Who is everyone's favorite author and what are your favorite books? Curious to know everyone's opinions and likings out there!

Personally, I am a huge fan of Tolkien. Loved the Lord of The Rings trilogy, as well as all of the side books written in relation to the main ones. Those novels are filled with amazing writings, everyone should read them at some point. I didn't really like the movies at all, but books are always better than movies. The movies were good if you never read the books, but they changed so much and left out so many good scenes, even though they had to... but yah love that series!

On another note, I love Grisham novels, my favorite is probably "The Broker" and it inspired me to learn some Italian :). Also love Dan Brown's books (Angels and Demons!) , as well as David Baldacci, Robin Cook, Vince Flynn, and John Stanford, just to name a few.

I love political thrillers, medical thrillers, and conspiracy books =]

My favorites are Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Donald Westlake and James Redfield, I also like Haldor Laxness

Cormac McCarthy - THE CROSSING and
THE ROAD

Willa Cather - DEATH COMES FOR THE ARCHBISHOP
