I'm not a Broadway Musical Song kind of guy but I have to admit to a certain sentimentality to "Send in the Clowns". Could be that I had a fear of clowns through most of my adult life and that is my way of dealing!! Just a thought!!

On My Own and Empty Chairs at Empty Tables from LES MISERABLES
I would nominate pretty much every song from that wonderful show as my favourite! "Bring Him Home" makes me misty eyed every time I hear it.

Just about anything from Sondheim, Comden and Green, Rodgers and Hart, Kurt Weill, Rodgers and Bernstein. That's just off the top of my head. "Lonely Town" is from On the Town.

I forgot Cole Porter! #-o

I ADORE anything from Wicked!!

Love most songs from Rent, but my fav is "Your Eyes."

In addition, I also love to hear "Betrayed" from The Producers!

Being Alive (Company) by Sondheim
All I Ask of You (Phantom)
Keep it Gay (Producers)
Tonight (West Side Story)
Cell Block Tango (Chicago)......just to name a few.

Another of my favorite song is Somewhere from Westside story. To me gives hope that somewhere in this world there is place for you.

I liked Blood Brothers as a musical.

If Ever I Would Leave You - Camelot

I'll cover you reprise (Rent)
masquarade (Phantom)
High Flying Adored (Evita)

I have to say "Music of the Night" from Phantom is my favorite, as is just about anything else from it.

That is a great choice. I must say, I love it very much. Even the great opera sopranos have now incorporated it in thieir concert repertoires.
Sorry. I'm lost here.
Defying Gravity is great and all...
But who are these sopranos you are talking about?
I can't imagine Renee Fleming of Beverly Sills covering this song.

If I had to choose only one, it would be One Song Glory from Rent, although Your Eyes comes in a close second.

Past: "A Little Priest" from Sweeney Todd sung by Angela Lansbury and George Hearn

Present: "For Good" from Wicked sung by Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel

6 more months til I get to see Wicked! October 21.....5th row orchestra!
