Re: So It Looks Like The Eurythmics...

Okay but listen to this;

"Have you heard of Eurythmics?"

^Which would just sound odd, orally speaking.

Where as

"Have you heard of the Eurythmics?"

Actually souinds like your talking about THEM as opposed talking about European Rythmics.

Apparently it is technically just Eurythmics, but why this matters is beyond me. As long as the song and album are great, who gives a fuck?

Re: So It Looks Like The Eurythmics...

Yeah, I have the CD - was gonna say as much, but you caught it. :)

WTF?

To clarify:

Noun
eurythmics (singular), also eurhythmics

a rythmic interpretation of music with graceful free-style dance movements
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Next time, a word of advice, so you don't look like one of those "dreaded Americans:"

a) Obviously, you haven't realized how witty, well-versed and poetic Annie Lennox is, otherwise you would have never thought "eurhythmics" would have anything to do with "euro-," think etymologically (eu- means good)

b) You are in front of a computer, as in you don't have to get up off your ass to search a dictionary, next time use it to your advantage...

That is all...Carry on

Re: So It Looks Like The Eurythmics...

new cd?

that's tight. i havent heard from Eurythmics in quite awhile.

Re: So It Looks Like The Eurythmics...

Great song!! Everything she does is perfection. She's the epitome of cool!

Re: So It Looks Like The Eurythmics...

It's NOT "The" Eurythmics.

Eurythmics.

I saw them live in August of 1984 and Annie stressed that you address them without the, "the" :)

Oh thank god...I wasn't the one to say it. No offence but it stuck out like Pam Anderson's tits at a Pride and Predjudice theme party.

And Annie Lennox Mudder-Funstin' ROCKS.

Re: So It Looks Like The Eurythmics...

Their Ultimate Collection CD was released in 2005, I checked the date that I d/l-ed the track. It was one of two new songs on their compilation.

But do not fear, Annie's new studio CD is due out later this year.

Re: So It Looks Like The Eurythmics...

Oh God.. this thread is like a flashback to my nightmare days of being in English class.

Got to head to the light. Got to head to the light.

Re: So It Looks Like The Eurythmics...

I thought we were talking about music...

The Eurythmics in The Missinoary Man

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RMEDBhXh-w[/ame] Are the Eurythmics still making music, they were big in the 80's and 90's seems like they dissapeard,

Re: The Eurythmics in The Missinoary Man

There is no 'The'. It is simply 'Eurythmics'.

Re: The Eurythmics in The Missinoary Man

They broke up after the We Too Are One album in 1990. Annie Lennox recorded a few solo albums, as did David Stewart (although he mainly stuck with production work). The band reunited for an album called Peace in 2005, and I think did a few new tunes for their Ultimate Collection greatest hits album. Since that, Annie's done another solo album.

I voted "Sweet Dreams" but "Love is a Stranger" is right up there for me, too.
