Favorite Gay Movie?

I loved it. It absolutely shattered me. I cried like a newborn Queen  bastard of a thing, I wasn't expecting that. Jaqueline Bisset was wonderful. And I really enjoyed Steven Sandvoss and Wes Ramsay, but seriously, if you were Aaron would you have gone back. I wouldnt have.

You mean, Aaron going back to Idaho, or wherever he was from? No. But then, I've never understood the dogma that's ground-into young Mormons, Catholics, Baptists. . . I grew up Methodist. . . and THAT was bad enough. It successfully kept me straight (on the outside) until I was 25.

Teehee. . . I just remembered the straight guy who showed-up at the wrong door in the film, and gratefully accepted a beer and a blowjob. He had to be thinking "Now THAT'S hospiTALity!"

Another just came to me: Big Eden. Another big-time weep-fest! Arye Gross and Eric Schweig (DROOOOL!) make an unlikely yet thoroughly lovable pair of star-crossed lovers in this one.

hey Handyman22 you must have been looking over my shoulder. Only one missing was Death in Venice.

just remembered. anyone old enough to recall the u.k. groundbreaker Victim, with Dirk Bogarde?

One I forgot -- "Wedding Banquet" directed by Ang Lee. I have to re-watch every so often.

jackmanor, "Victim" was great. Very groundbreaking for its time. And a great little thriller, to boot.

I watched my fav movie (Shelter) with my bf the other night.

I was so pleased that he loved it too.

I now want to watch more gay themed movies with him. By the sound of it Latter Days may be the next one to check out.

The Tales of the City mini-series. First series aired on PBS, the others on Showtime.

I just finished reading the whole series of books again. . . I ADORE those characters! They feel like my own (as Anna Madrigal would say) logical family.

I have a question about a movie someone might know what it is. I remember there being a gay themed movie where this one guy is gay bashed and another guy takes care of him, and I can't remember if they end up together in the movie or not. At the end of the movie I remember there being something about a phone call or something and the two guys walk off with these kids looking at them or taunting them as they leave. Anyone have any idea what movie I might be talking about?

OK, aside from the already mentioned Proteus and Latter Day (2 of the greatest movies about hate and secret homosexual love) and Brokeback Mountain (I loved this movie because it was so real, and shows that all gay men don't have to be prancing queens, having sex with random guys every 5 minutes)

I also liked:
On the Downlow - great movie about two latin rival gangs in Chicago...two memebers fall in love with one another and are faced with choosing their gang or choosing the one they love.

R U Invited: 5 Guys & A Sex Party - tells a story of how promiscuous and superficial and selfish and drama-filled some gay guys can be...and how the perfect man can be staring you in the face, but you overlook him to be with "the in-crowd". Scary thing is: the things they did in the movie are pretty accurate stereotypes of gay people.

Hard - Story of a cop who is gay, but lives a secret life as a straight "bad-ass" Well when he is in the midst of his lies and deception and tries to get over on this guy he likes---the guy leads him on a face-paced adventure that scares the cop into thinking his gay identity will be revealed.
