The 60's decade had some of the best girl groups. But to be able to pick just one is impossible. I find myself listening to them more each day.
my two favorites are
Lesley Gore
The Ronettes

They are both still touring today.
 
The Ronnetes are classic. Be My Baby is one of my favorite songs of all time!

The Supremes
The Marvelettes
Martha & the Vandellas
The Chiffons
and The Shirreles

those are my favorites!
 
How could I forget The Shangri-las!!
And now the lead Mary Weiss has a new cd out. She still sounds the same
 
One Of My Favorite Songs From That Era is Love Is Like (A Heatwave), by Martha & The Vandellas, i think it will Live on forever, it really is a timeless record.

Do Aretha and her sisters/backup singers count? If so, them. If not, probably the Shirelles or the Ronettes.

Sidenote: Is anybody else really getting into the modernized sixties-girl-group sound that's coming around lately? Stuff like Amy Winehouse, the Raveonettes, She & Him, etc.

It is so hard to say which is your favorite. I just love The Supremes: I was never able to see them perform. I did see Diana Ross a few years ago at The Concord Pavillion. Reserved front row seats right down in front. She was so amazing the concert was 2 hours long and no filler just her!!!!! Such a classy lady
