I just recently saw a rather old and odd movie about a serial killer who may or may not be a vampire.

The movie was called "Martin" and I had never even heard of it before, but it was recommended to me by someone.

At times disturbing, but always rather interesting, and some of the flashbacks in black and white are downright creepy.

He has no fangs, so his method of drinking people's blood is by sneaking up to them, jabbing them with a needle full of sedatives, and then cutting them with razor blades (and in one case-- jabbing the victim with a broken piece of wood) which causes them to bleed and then he slurps up the blood. Often times he gets naked with the naked victim, as he is drinking their blood.

Sunlight, garlic, crosses, and priests seem to have no effect on him. My impression of him is that he is a very socially awkward serial killer who is obsessed with blood.

I wonder if the television series "Dexter" is loosely based on this old (1970s) movie?

Feel free to post any movie that creeps you out for Halloween in this thread...

the original movie "Halloween" and "Halloween II" still creep me out to this day. The backround music really freaks me out too.

Martin is a George Romero flick. And since George Romero directed what is arguably the finest horror film of all time, that makes it interesting. ..|

Trick 'r Treat is a fun choice for Halloween if you haven't seen it:

Trick 'r Treat is awesome! Rented it a few months ago, definitely a new fav of mine.

I'm a 90's kid so Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Faculty, Urban Legend, The Craft, Halloween: H20 are some of my horror movie go-to's. They're not all Halloween-themed, but I grew up watching those movies 10x over.

ahhh i was going to say trick or treat too, i love that movie.

in terms of good halloween themed movies i can only think of the halloween series. but some movies i like to watch during this season are poltergeist, the exorcist, return of the living dead, gremlins, creepshow, beetlejuice, Bram Stoker's dracula, sleepy hollow, and many MANY more.

Wishing netflix would put the Halloween series up on instant...besides Resurrection, I mean. That's the worst in the series, imo, and THAT'S the only one they have?
