Re: Pat Benatar

I think Pat Benatar has one amazing voice!
I love the song "Shadows of the night." and "Invincible."
I think the Ooh ooh song was done very well by her too.
I loved the duets she did with Martina Mcbride on Crossroads.
She also has beautiful teeth.:D..|:=D::=D::=D:

Re: Pat Benatar

I love Pat Benatar! She is the shit! Really awesome. Although I disagree with Jennifer Lopez not being talented...

Anyway, I love Pat! My favourite songs have to be "Heartbreaker", "Hell Is For Children", "Love Is A Battlefield" and "Hit Me With Your Best Shot."

There was a video on YouTube that I saw with Pat performing "Heartbreaker" and she was lip syncing. The video is no longer on there, but it was from 1979. Some "Midnight Train" performance which was quite the thing to watch... Mostly because of the shots they showed of the crowd. I wish somebody else knew what I was talking about. Anyway, in other videos that she performs "Heartbreaker" live she is more raspy and crisper, but during her lip sync and the album version of "Heartbreaker" her voice was more... softer and higher.

So she is very talented, yet her voice is enhanced in ways... Don't get me wrong, but I am a huge fan. Either way shes awesome.

Re: Pat Benatar

seen Pat live on my 30th b-day, and she still has it! And I agree, Anxiety was my favorite song on Get Nervous album, which was my favorite album. And , even tho I'm gay, I think she has always been a hot woman!

Re: Pat Benatar

I love Jenifer as an actress. She's amazing but, as a singer she's just not that good.

Re: Pat Benatar

Pat had opera training, and you can hear it in her voice. She has TONS of control, and that's why she handled so many genre shifts so well. She was blessed with a great bone structure as well, and is reportedly great to work with, as is her husband.

If you listen to love is a battlefiled closely you can hear her using her opera vocal on the backup vocal track.

Re: Pat Benatar

Remember "Hell is for Children" ?

It was the closing track, I think, on "Crimes of Passion".

At the time, it was kind of a controversy, even mentioning 'hell' and 'children' in the same sentence raised a few eyebrows, let alone that the song was about child abuse.

I listened to it a few months ago, and although it's not as good as I remember it being, it brought me back to the days of cranking it 'up to 10' in my car....

Plus, I had a major crush on Neil Geraldo ;)

Re: Pat Benatar

I had her first four cassettes when I was a teenager. Sadly, they've all been eaten by tape players. My faves are You Better Run, I'm Gonna Follow You, No You Don't, Just Like Me, and Helter Skelter.

Pat and Blondie(for 4 albums) had the same producer, Mike Chapman. The middle of the long version of War Child sounds a bit like Invincible to me.

If I remember correctly (okay, I was four when the song came out--if I heard correctly), part of the problem was people jumping to conclusions without knowing the facts (imagine!). Some people just heard the title and took it as "children should go to hell" instead of what it really is.

Re: Pat Benatar

I've had a couple of Pat Benatars albums over the years but am left with only 'the Very Best of' on CD which doesn't contain my favourite song, 'Sex as a Weapon'. It does however have 'Anxiety' and 'All fired up' to keep me happy!
