I Love Paula Abdul, her Music Is Awesome, I Think She Was The First Female Artist To have 4 No. 1 Singles off of one album, so yay for her, Forever Your Girl, Straight Up, Cold Hearted, Rush, Rush, Blowin Kisses in The Wind, and promise Of A New Day are among my Favorite Songs From Her

I saw her in concert. She was awesome. I love the way she dances. Straight up was one of my favorite video.

This track was on Paula's greatest hits, but don't think the single got a US release.
A lot of these newer performers don't realise they are treading old ground previously covered by the likes of Paula, Janet, Karyn White and my personal favourite, the very fierce Ms Jody Watley who continues to make great music today. Here's my favourite of Jody's early videos, 'Real Love' :

She didn't have much in the way of a singing voice. I mean, it was OK, but her main coup was picking killer songs to do, and having great producers do great things with them. I think she tried too quickly to "branch out", and may have lost her audience too quickly. (And why did Virgin give her a vanity label after ONE album?)

I would normally be totally against Paula singing a song even though it's on Randy Jackson's album, but it's really good!... really good!
okay, i may be over exaggerating, but i probably think its bad ass because i had such low expectations for this song!
