and who can forget Billie Holliday's "Strange Fruit"

the saddest song I've ever heard.

Here's a few from when I was growing up.

ALONE AGAIN, NATURALLY

AT SEVENTEEN

"Contagious" by Casey Stratton

This live version kinda sucks (lots of background noise, long intro), album version makes me totally well up.

Into the West-Annie Lennox
Angel- Sarah McLaughlin- This song always gets to me......no matter how many times I hear it.

Right now for me it is Good Enough by Evanescence...im not in love with anyone at the moment, but i do know that when i am this is word for word how i am gonna be feeling:)

the ones that comes to mind for me would have to be

Staind- Excess Baggage
Blink 182- Adams Song
Nirvana- redo of Where did you sleep last night..

the lyrics are just so powerful.

My fave is "not pretty enough" by kasey chambers. this song will bum you out!!

"Glosoli" by Sigur Ros is absolutely beautiful with an equally moving cinematic masterpiece of a music video. The symbolism and meaning of this film brings tears to my eyes still.

Rancid
Harry Bridges

Bloody thursday was july 6th
the pigs killed 3 workers harry bridges grabbed the mic
The city shut down july 6th the workers outrage it was a general strike
The media clamed that the commies were taking over
and some believed it was true
3 uncompremising strikes was paved the way
Minn Sf and Toledo

Over and over again the doors are locked
and the windows are broken

Eddie worked for general motors and he swore
that he'd never lose his job again
A union man who owned his own home
in beautiful flint michigan

Eddie lost his job and eddie lost his wife
So eddie lost his self esteme
The last time i saw eddie
he was living in the trailer park again

Over and over again the doors are locked
and the windows are broken

I believe eddie for gave too much too soon
I got a letter from eddie and it was bad news

Over and over again the doors are locked
and the windows are broken
