Stevie Nicks !!!

Ive noticed that not to many of us out there still love to listen to Stevie Nicks. Ive loved her since the days of Fleetwood Mac. Man the woman just wont stop.
She has a new live sound stage concert comming out this month. Been waiting for so long for her to do a live dvd. She has not done one since Red Rocks.
Any other Stevie fans out there......

Re: Stevie Nicks !!!

Yes im one. I have all her albums and all of Fleetwood mac's albums on cd AND vinyl lp. Im 20 and discovered her two years ago on my 18th bday.

I used to post alot about her and Fleetwood here but not many responded.

Do you own Stevie's first album on lp with buckingham nicks? Its rare and only on vinyl lp called BUCKINGHAM NICKS.

Re: Stevie Nicks !!!

we have all Mac, albums, and all Stevie's cd, seen mac and Stevie in concert 2xs ea.

So I dont know where you get we dont listen to her..

Re: Stevie Nicks !!!

If I have to harm someone else to get tickets to their upcoming tour, so be it. :p

But hell yes Stevie is my girl. I love her. "Silver Spring" from "The Dance," anyone? ;)

I saw them when they came through St. Louis about 6-7 years ago? One of the best concerts I've ever seen. I got chills during "Big Love" with Lindsey and, of course, "Silver Spring!"

:D

Where I am from there are not to many of us that still listen to Stevie.
Its great to know that there are more of us out there. She is supposed to start touring later this year after the tour with Fleetwood Mac. I would kill for those tickets!!!!!!

Re: Today's WTF is Stevie Nicks talking about? lyrical snippet.

I've read that it was inspired by a short story she read, "Rappaccini's daughter" by Nathaniel Hawthorne.

Yup. That's the one. Love some of Hawthorne's work--Young Goodman Brown is still one my favorite short stories.

Re: Today's WTF is Stevie Nicks talking about? lyrical snippet.

Hmm...

I LUV that this old thread is revived !

I'm not familiar with Hawthorne's work.

What does it mean in that context ?

*Sigh*

Here she is recording her vocals in the studio for "Leather and Lace".

*Listen* to that voice. I've never heard anything quite like it...

Ya know, if I were a str8 guy.... Well, I get the appeal is all I'm saying. ;)

Re: Today's WTF is Stevie Nicks talking about? lyrical snippet.

Stevie Nicks is fucking amazing, I don't question it, I just love it...

My thoughts exactly!! I have seen Stevie sing Silver Springs onstage with Fleetwood mac and it is amazing!! The way she just stares at Lindsay Buckingham while singing it , you know she wrote that song about him.

Stevie Nicks - 'In Your Dreams'

Stevie Nicks released her first studio album in a decade, today. The reviews have been great so far, and the album is currently #1 at barnesandnoble.com, #2 at Amazon.com, and #6 on iTunes.

Personally, I think it's one of her absolute best efforts to date. Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) produced, and the resulting music is fresh & contemporary, while staying faithful to Stevie's classic style. Plus, she sounds fantastic -- inspired, committed, passionate. Basically, if you've ever loved a Stevie Nicks song, you're going to love this album.

Anyway, I just wanted to recommend it to my fellow JUBers. :)

Re: Stevie Nicks - 'In Your Dreams'

Funny how people view things differently. I listened to the first song released and watched the video for it and felt it was totally uninspired and lackluster. It seems to have only a vestige of her former fire and she seemed tired in it. I don't think I will be buying it anytime soon. As for Dave Stewart, I was always more a fan of Annie Lennox when they were together as Eurythmics and really, he hasn't done all that much that has been inspiring since then. IMHO.

I'm quite fond of "Secret Love," but it's definitely not a good example of what to expect from the rest of the album. Reprise played it safe sending that one out to radio. But 'In Your Dreams' has a lot more to offer than the first single makes it seem, and I definitely think if you get a chance to hear more of the other tracks, you'll see that fire and inspiration that you mentioned.

But, hey, if you don't like it, that's cool too. Art is so subjective, and not every thing speaks to everyone.

Re: Stevie Nicks: Betty Ford saved my life

Thanks for sharing that ! (*8*)

Stevie's song, "Welcome to the Room, Sara", on Fleetwood Mac's 1987 "Tango in the Night" album is about her experiences there...

Written, of course, in an ethereal, mysterious way that only our Stevie could pull off....

Re: Stevie Nicks: Betty Ford saved my life

Wow

And here I thought I was telling you something you didn't know about that song....;)

Oh, and BTW, the LONG awaited remixed deluxe versions of Mirage and Tango are supposedly due out at the end of this year. (!)

MUCH needed for Mirage, especially - That CD has always sounded like shit.

Remastered properly, it should sound *amazing*

Re: Stevie Nicks - 'In Your Dreams'

Thought I'd bump this thread to share Stevie's brand new video, "Moonlight" -- which is the fourth she's released from 'In Your Dreams.'

Re: Stevie Nicks !!!

Bumping this very old thread to say that Stevie's "Edge of Seventeen" is currently #2 on the iTunes rock charts (no doubt thanks to her appearances on American Idol and Up All Night). Not bad for a 31 year-old song!

Re: Stevie Nicks !!!

love all of stevie nicks solo stuff. she's really great. one of my all-time faves.

Re: Stevie Nicks !!!

billysosilly and aaronxp, here are the videos you were trying to share (PS: when using the youtube tag, only post the unique videoID inside of it -- for example, [ youtube ]rYwk8IE38PA[ /youtube ], without the spaces of course).

Re: Stevie Nicks !!!

By the way, I'm loving the Stevie Love, guys -- keep sharing your favorite tracks!

Here's one of my favorites of hers, which I was very pleasantly surprised that they used on Christina Applegate's show Up All Night, in the same episode Stevie guested on.

Re: Stevie Nicks !!!

I've been a fan for years...don't know why she never had a gay following like Madonna but Hey She Rocks. Speaking of gay following I've wondered about Lindsay Buckingham for years if he's bi.....I mean in interviews he does act a but queeny. Am I wrong?
