Favorite vampire/werewolve authors

I love Bram Stoker's version - it is truly scary. However, I read it when I was a teenager living on my parents' farm in central Texas, and I could hear coyotes howling while I was reading. That made it even scarier, and I remember having trouble sleeping.

Yeah, I haven't read that one (though I did buy a copy for my sister-in-law). She's written others, as well.

I don't know any vampire or werewolves, let alone any that have written any books.

I really like the Necroscope series by Brian Lumley. It is truly an original vampire story.
