Favourite Film(s) of 2006?

Well.. what's yours?! :D

(I will add to this, in due course)

Texas Chainsaw Massare: The Begining
Flight 93
Final Destination 3
Aquamarine
The Hills Have Eyes
When A Stranger Calls
The Descent

I've seen very few of this year's films. The best so far would be " Inside man". It would be easier for me to make a worst list, which "Date Movie" would top.

Little Miss Sunshine

I second "Date Movie." Absolutely horrid.

LORD OF WAR !!! (France, Germany, South Africa... of course, no american money in that film...)
Romanzo Criminale (Italy)
El Aura (Argentina)
OSS 117 Le Caire Nid d'Espions (France... you'll never see this one... too "french" to be exported...)
La Science des Rêves (France)
The Queen (UK)
V for Vendetta
Munich
Little Miss Sunshine
... and a lot of other ones... many more than in 2005 (my personnal "cinema annus horribilis"...)

Marie Antoinette
Little Miss Sunshine
The Departed
A Prairie Home Companion
Friends with Money

(please bear in mind that some/most of these may have come out in America in 2005...)

Brokeback Mountain
United 93
Munich
The Departed
Capote
Syriana
Brick

Brick
Hard Candy
The Departed
Clerks 2
Lucky Number Slevin
Syriana
Little Miss Sunshine
The Omen

And looking forward to Casino Royale, it should be kick ass.

STORMBREAKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there's the hotness right there:

So far this year:

Devil Wears Prada
Marie Antoinette
Cars
Lady In The Water (wrongfully bashed by critics & horribly under-rated)
The Omen (excellent remake!)

the best horrors...The Omen Remake, Saw 3!!!! and Hard Candy

and best comedy and funniest film ever Date Movie!

Lady in the Water - definitely underrated. Shymalan had the nerve to release a thought provoking movie during the summer. Reviewers find that unforgivable.

Inside Man - Spike Lee's best since Bamboozled, an apology for antisemitism disguised as a bank robbery movie. Jodie Foster is especially fine as a power broker of nearpsychotic self-assurance who turns out to, well, I don't want to spoil it.

Syriana - Traffic for the oil industry. Probably the most unsympathetic characters in an American film since Rules of Attraction. Clooney' acting improves with each movie but I think he's better behind the camera, especially with Goodnight and Good Luck.

... who is only 16 1/2 yo.... [-X

which is fine considering the guy who wrote he was hot is only 19 and the age of consent here is 16.

movies I have really liked that I saw this year are V for Vendetta, The Family Stone, XMen: The Last Stand... I kinda liked Date Movie.

My top ten :
1.- Little Children
2.- Babel
3.- Marie Antoniette
4.- Volver
5.- United 93
6.- Shortbus
7.- V For Vendetta
8.- Little Miss Sunshine
9.- The Departed
10.- Akeelah And The Bee
