Favourite fragance

I HATE Acqua di Gio and Diesel for men above all (very stereotypical fragrances...and I find the note structure simple)!

I can't remember what one it was but there was ONE Cartier I didn't like - well I liked it but not on me...I smelled of potatoes. I didn't wash it off immediately though cuz I thought it was funny.

Polo Explorer (By Ralph Lauren) for the day time

Armani Code (by Emporio Armani) or 212 Sexy Men (By Carolina Herrera) for night time

:)

Had the Paco Rabanne Black XS but I had enough as it is too much for, makes me feel sick!

I love Armani Code!

I also like Truth by Calvin Klein <3

I mostly smell like the April Fresh Downey (fabric softener) in my clothes, and I get a lot of compliments on it.

But I do like fragrances, it's lovely to spritz a little on after a shower and before dressing... unfortunately, I have a weird body-chemistry so I can't wear most commercial scents, I'm either allergic to them (pretty much anything blue-colored shatters my sinuses) or I alter the smell. Like I used to love Drakkar Noir, but on me it smelled exactly like cheap gin. I can bathe in Obsession, but my skin simply neutralizes it and you can't smell it on me after ten minutes.

So now I stick to organic, small-brand, hand-made stuff; my current roster of fragrant spritzes includes:
  • Aveda Pure-Fume Tonic (recently discontinued, it has a warm, sweet, woody herbal smell).
  • L'Aromaine Vetyver (smells like Froot Loops going on, but settles down to a nice fresh herbal fragrance).
  • Body Time Carnation (on me smells a lot like white pepper with a floral undertone).
  • Fresh Inc. Fleurs de Chocolat Lucia EdP (chocolate and mandarin orange, smells like a fabulous dessert).
  • TerraNova Red Tea (a very sweet fragrance, I mostly only wear it with drag, but it has the most delicious smell that I can't even describe, sort of softly sweetly spicily sexy).
I realize that most of the fragrances I like smell like some kind of food. But I like eating better than almost anything else, so that stands to reason.

kenneth cole's black is nice.

My God GL we are not only both post whores here at JUB, but we prefer the same fragrance. I agree, I prefer Kenneth Cole's Black. All I know is that it cause both my partner and I to feel instantly horny and spring a woody. In fact we both use it. And, in addition, both men and women notice and compliment us. I do also use a couple of brands of HUGO to change off and not cause my partner to have blue balls all the time.

If you are partnered, it may be good to test any fragrance together. It prevents turnoffs, and of course the possibility of allergic reactions. At $100 a bottle, it might be well to know which works in advance.

By the way, ANKH, I am delighted you are back to this Username here. I have always preferred it, and now I see you do again too, and I say this to affirm you, not to suggest you must stay with it. Thanks.

Shep+(*8*)(*8*)(*8*)!oops!

Lagerfeld has been my scent o choice for years. Ankh I was dee-lighted to see Vetiver by Guerlain - wore it for years but didn't they discontinue it for quite some time ?

I've tried various over the years, but I always come back to the same all time favourite, Givenchy Gentleman.

Kiton from Great Britain, though only high-end stores sell it. After trying dozens of others, it works the best for me and have had many compliments for using it.

I probably have about 20 bottles on my shelf right now, but my current rotation is:

Crisp and clean, warm and sexy. Impossible to resist. The most potent, long-lasting form of men's fragrance. For an unmistakably masculine presence, day and night. Fresh, virile formula to spray all over the body

yeah ... i cant wear sweet smells ... they really get to me after a while ... plus some of them get a weird funk to the on my skin ... tommy seems to react well with me ... and i love wandering around catching whiffs of it all day long ... gimme a man that wears tommy and im set ... yum

aqua di gio...it's not too strong and it just smells really classy

I've gotten more compliments on this cologne than any other one I've ever worn. While this is lost on many of us, many women absolutely love this scent on a man. I've recommended it to many a young man standing at the cologne counter.

"It's a really good scent."

"Really?"

"Yup. Women love it."

"They do?"

Drooling saleswoman pops up behind counter--"Oh, yes, it's quite popular with u--um, our female customers."

I love smelling it on a man.

What matters is how you like the scent once you are wearing it. Just spraying it on a little tester strip at the counter is not enough--you have to try it on, let it sit on the skin and interact with your body for a little while, then smell it again. Things that smell good in the bottle often don't work well with a person's individual "chemistry," and things that don't smell good in a bottle can work wonders once they mix with your natural flavor.

after reading this again, am I only the Chanel guy?
I don't think so

My problem is that I don't have a very good sense of smell
