He was presented with a difficult question. Should he withhold information which could affect peoples' voting decision or should he reveal it and allow the people to decide the importance. Soppose, hypothetically, the FBI knew that a candidate was about to be indicted for a very serious crime; murder, perhaps, rape, bribery, treason? It seems obviously that it should not withold that fact and allow the possible election of the person. He would be subject to very serious criticism. Comey's delima was worse, because, although she seemed guilty of the crime, he, or the democrat DOJ or president, was deciding not to prosecute for no clear reason. How could they justify their inaction?
