Today at work i was debugging some nasty Javascript problems on website heavily making use of AJAX. You all probably know the standard java script errors that say nothing at all.

After googling around for a specific problem, i stumbled over this little gem:

the rest of the day, i spent wetting myself and playing around with firebug if you know the webdeveloper toolbar - this baby rocks at least twice as much

Yea, I've been using FireBug for a couple weeks now. Love it so far, but I haven't used it a ton. You might want to try the Web Developer Extension (http://chrispederick.com/work/webdeveloper/) I use it pretty often with validation, checking layouts, etc.

yep i know that one (this is the web developer toolbar i was refering to) but firebug is way more powerful - especially if you fondling around with a lot of javascript and/or ajax

Firebug gets also my vote! Had some trouble with the source view though, it got all confused because of some invalid elements but what else can you expect...

i also noticed it is a very helpful tool for reverse engineering other websites. i already learned some nice ajax tricks this way
