The guide is pretty in depth, but it has stuff in different sections, which I think is stupid. I mean, they should have everything in line. For example during the main story they could go, "Before you go on and get yourself killed trying to defeat Judge so and so, why not try to take on hunt No. X" Ya know what I mean? Same goes for sidequests. I hate that I have to flip between sections. It's annoying. Fucking Brady Games and their crippled guides.
 
The Zodiac Spear is MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well guys I have great news!!!


I did it! I got the Zodiac Spear! Just a few minutes ago.!Finally! :gogirl:

I beat that stupid ass boss and then spent over and hours looking for the damn thing and I passed it twice without knowing in an area extreme hard to fight in at the point I'm at now. Oh my god I'm excited. This weapon is great!

I'm at levels:

Vaan - 51

Baltheir - 34

Fran - 34

Basch - 34

Ashe - 40

Penelo - 40

And my current mission is now in Archades.

I did and now its time to get back to the game.

Actually you might want to forget the level I put for Vaan because now he is Level 58 and its all thanks to the Zodiac Spear... I gained 7 level in just an hour... Wow.
 
I'm just spending time leveling up. I killed a T-Rex awhile ago..and those stupid flying birds in the Westersands...im at around level 33 and 34 for the main three characters, Bash, Balthier and Vaan. Definitly need to get to a higher level because the boss im ready to fight now is rather hard.

I use the same characters as you do! Not really sure I want to use Penelo that much. Love Fran though so I switch her occassionally with Balthier. :D

Ummm. You're at levels 33 and 34 for just three characters (they are not the main characters) and you are fihgting the birds and that T-Rex to level up?

You need to get moving because quite frankly you are wasting your time on small flies.

Find harder enemies and fight with less characters. You
You should get to Old Archades and buy the accessories that double your EXP and buy the most Powerful Weapon you can buy if you are to level up much faster.

If you do that make sure you know how to handle a fight alone so you get reap the rewards!!!!

Or youcan just do whatever you want.
 
PS: I'm at levels:

Vaan - 64 (Thanks to the Zodiac Spear)

and everyone else is at level 41

I am at the huge tower after you get the third esper...
 
Not to sound at all bitter for missing the Zodiac Spear, but you should all stop using it, you pussies :D

It was hard work to get that spear, so NO!!!

Even with the spear and the level that I am at, the game is still freaking hard.

It just gets harder and hard.
 
that sucks, as far as i can tell its not out in the uk yet, and wont be untill late feb next year!

I didn't say it was "THAT" hard. I said it was just "hard"...

I'm not a hardcore gamer, so I don't like putting myself to the ultimate challenges.
I don't blow (in anyway) at this game, I know that.

PS: i'm at the end of the game already, which left me quite dissapointed because it was so sudden. I thought there would be more to the story, but no.

PS: Level 65 Vaan and mid 40s everyone else and I'm pretty sure I can beat the game this way.

But that's less because I'm such a good friend and more because they're frightened of how quickly I can stab somebody in the back, feed them to the sharks, and convice said friend that I did nothing of the sort.

How do you get the Zodiac Spear? What was your strategy to beat the Firebomb King boss? I've bought the immune to Oil trinkets, but I'm not sure how to beat him because he keeps respawning those mini-bombs.

I'm using:

Vaan - 36 - Light Armor Melee w/ Spells (Hybrid)
Basche - 35 - Heavy Armor Tank and Mega Melee Damager
Ashe - 36 - Mystic Armor Caster/Healer

All my characters are pretty much maxed out with Augmentation and are well versed in healing magics/buff ups.

I don't recall what level I was when I defeated him, just be sure that when his life bar is about 60%, use your quickenings. The very second you regain control, switch out your party for the reserves and have them use theirs.
 
Ah I see. I'll have to level up my reserves then, they are only levels 26, 26, 27. Gotcha about the Quickenings! Thanks! I'll throw some Ethers up to the first group so they can do theirs and let pull out the reserves to finish him off.
 
Oh, and by the way, since there's a Save Crystal right before the battle, you would do well to cast every possible augmentation spell to your advantage, then save again as to regain lost MP, before stepping in. Haste would be quite the necessity.
 
I Heart the quickenings...I completely thrashed two bosses without it getting in a single hit...did like 7 quickening hits in a row and it beat em right away.
