I already tried this. 39 views so far, but no responses.

Maybe you'll have better luck with it if I start. ..|

The hypocrisy of the 'Christian' church will be the death of it.

Good for the Finns.

Ok gsdx, just 'cause no one will play.

I not too sure of the accuracy of this report that so many thousands of people left the evangelical church in such a short time.

I mean c'mon are we to believe all these Finnish people didn't know the church was homophobic before this event?

I am glad that the Finns are taking a stand on this issue.

However, in my area, anti-gay comments would be welcomed in local churches. They see it as taking a stand against sin and the devil's work because they still believe being gay is a choice and the gay lifestyle is guaranteed damnation.

I loved the YouTube video BTW!

Well...

Yes, the number of people leaving the Evangelic-Lutheran church of Finland increased after the debate. Many of them because the official standpoint of the church wasn't clearly outspoken: There's nothing wrong with being gay. The bishops have actually started the process of forming a pattern of prayer for homosexual relationships and the process is on-going. And most of the bishops have stated that a straight-like-wedding-ceremony should also be organised. And maybe it shall be so in a few years.

So, what's my point? Lots of people left the church and that's a shame. Most of the people left because they don't think the church has what they need and they don't even know what the church preaches. However, I think that the Finnish Evancelic-Lutheran church meets the present times considerably well. We're on our way for better times and way ahead of most.

Once again, other countries are standing up to bigots who hide behind their religion and refusing to allow it. Once again, the "greatest" country on earth is shown to be far behind.
