  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

Firefox 29 inane bag a shite

Ready? OK, everybody, all together now...

"...PEOPLE STILL USE FIREFOX?..."

Lex

Yes. Had so many issues with Google Chrome and I could never fix them. Plus it always crashed on me. Also my toolbar looks nothing like that and I updated.

Isn't security the main reason for updates?

If you don't upgrade aren't you making your computer more vulnerable to viruses and hacking?

I use Safari.

I've loved Firefox and it's ad-blocking add-on's for a very long time... Until about last October it's been crashing quite a bit - which I think is somehow related to Outlook I use at work. Some days are worse than others. I do plan on looking into the Waterfox and Pale Moon mentioned here.

WTF were they thinking? You have to cram all your crap in one horizonal row. Look what's happened to the url and how they're showing link-hover info...
You're doing it wrong. Why do you have so many icons? I don't have any of those print and search icons, I choose them all from the menu and only have a few add-ons.

If they kept the Status Bar
I had two add-ons using the status bar and rearranged the icons to show on top, I don't understand users who need that bar.

Link-over info still shows up on the bottom, by the way. You might want to delete/backup localstore.rdf to refresh the interface.

What is wrong with Internet Explorer? It is something that came with my computer and I have never used anything else.

Don't judge me, I'm too lazy and impatient and afraid of change :'(

What's funny is, you're complaining about the change you're getting, which you're already afraid of.

Might as well face the fear at this point.

I tried Chrome but got fed up with it crashing every time it encountered a Flash element

Totally agree. Hate Chrome. Never saw a browser crash as much as it does. Using Chrome is like going back to Windows 95.

I havent used it in years so I cant speak for the updates it had, but it was very unprotected browser and stayed dated even when other browsers came out.

But how can a browser be outdated? All it has to do is call up the sites on Internet according to one's requirements.

Outdated as in the protection it offers from malware, phishing sites, security risks, that sort of thing.

And while I get everyones' beef with Google Chrome freezing, that problem hasn't been present for me in months... unless I try to load the "what are you listening to?" threads on here.

Install Flash block, among other extensions, and it'll work just fine.
Don't suppose it's your machine that's causing the crashes? As I've never had any browser crash on me in a great many years.

I must admit that you seem to be speaking a foreign language. But you have all succeeded in making me extremely worried that I am not doing something I should be doing.

If in doubt then install Malwarebytes/Avast!/Spyware Blaster/ Spybot S&D/ (All FREE!!!!) and USE THEM, cos an anti virus checker/scanner is only as good as the frequency the user uses it and updates it.
