Is there a way to get Firefox 3.6.3 to open the new PM window maximised? If I click a link in a thread, it opens in a new 'full' window, but I have to keep maximising the PM window when a new one opens.

When I had that problem with opening a new link. I maximized all the windows first then closed them including the last window. Maybe the PM window re-sizes it making it restore to a smaller window size. I doubt my method will work, hopefully it does. I usually do it when it happens to me.

Thanks. I've tried that over the past 2 days and the messages still open in half a window.

Oh, well. What can you do, eh?

I don't think you can, and I'm not sure you would want to. The inconvenience would be a lot worse than clicking the 'refresh/reload' button.

I think there's a way to force the browser to reload the page from the Internet rather than the cache, but I can't remember what it is.

For example in this site when you just posted and go back a page you won't see you as the last poster until F5 or refresh is done. I guessFF is caching it ?

Yeah. Actually, I rarely use "Back" on JUB. My navigation work-around for this is clicking the forum title header again to move "bacK" when I want to see list of posts, or even enter the same one if I've just posted into it or it's very active and getting new posts over the span of a few minutes. For instance, when I'm reading a thread or posting into one, I will click "Tech Talk" again at page top (the attachment illustrates which one) instead of Firefox's own "Back". It then reloads so I get the most recent summary view, then I go into the thread again. It might seem awkward at first but you'll get used to it and it's pretty speedy.

^ There is also the 'Forum Jump' button at the bottom of every page. I use both depending upon which one requires the least scrolling.

I figured out how to expand the PM window when it opened. When it opened, it was full size vertically, but only half size horizontally and to the left side of the screen. I was using the 'maximise' button to get it to fill the screen because I was seeing only the left half of the message, but it would revert to the smaller window every time the PM window was opened again.

Finally, more out of frustration than anything, I 'grabbed' the right side of the window with the mouse pointer and stretched it to full screen. That's how it opens now.

Sometimes the toughest problems have the simplest solutions.
