First GAY KISS on Daytime TV on ATWT

Gay soap opera drama! No wonder the heteros get addicted to this. Put a gay story in and I'm watching it lol
 
Yeah, I don't think ATWT had the first gay kiss. From what I've seen, Passions had Simone and her late girlfriend, Rae, kiss and such. Then there's Chad and Simone's brother Vincent. There's probably been others in other soaps before that people are forgetting, but who knows. ATWT is the first to feature a teen gay couple with a major storyline (the Passions storylines were really weak, and seemed to just be there to break up a "super-couple", and add some shockvalue).
 
Wow not bad,I am impressed that there taking it farther than most Soaps have.

I think they meant gay male kiss, and, yes, it was the first male same-sex kiss ever in daytime. We never even saw Vincent's face when Chad actually had sex with him (though we found out who it was and saw his face later on), let alone saw a kiss between them.​

They never kissed? Thanks for correcting me then. I remember Chad kissing Vincent's body, I must have created an image of them kissing through an assumption.

I hope this doesn't turn into a JP and Craig (Hollyoaks) story, where Noah is in love with Luke but refuses to admit he's gay, and drag both parties through an ocean of mixed messages and emotions for months on end.
 
i love soaps passsions, days, as the world turns i just eat ice cream lol that was gooood do they kno they have kids that watch that oh watever i liked it
 
This has been getting WAY too much hype, I've seen like ten different threads in the past week for it.
 
Is it just me but did Noah have a growth spurt between shows? He looks older at the beginning of the follow up episode. Maybe its just me.

Again, I think they meant gay male kiss, which I'm sure you'll agree is far more controversial than lesbians, whom the hetero males and homophobic black preachers (unless they're the closeted ones, who secretly prefer the gay male sex stuff, although they can't admit the way it makes them feel inside) certainly won't mind, and they're usually the backbone of any anti-gay fundy protest.. And Bianca/Lena was only 4 years ago -- it happened in 2003.

I will admit I haven't been following ATWT religiously like you have, but are you sure your characterization of Holden as an "asshole" is accurate? I would think of several other fathers whose behavior towards their gay sons would be more in the ball park of "asshole", one on this very show -- Noah's father, not Luke's; there would also be the father of Kevin Sheffield, another gay teen who appeared a decade ago on AMC; he was definitely an asshole about it! If anyone gave Luke a harder time out of Luke's two parents for his homoaffectionality, it would be Lily, not Holden. If you're referring to the time Holden forbade Luke from hanging out with Kevin, it was because of Kevin's excessive drinking, and Luke's weak liver, not because he thought that trying to discourage Luke from hanging out with Kevin would somehow set him "str8". It was Holden that offered words of support and tried to get Lily to do the same when Luke finally came out, and as far as Kevin goes, Holden even appealed to him to try to get him and his friends to help protect him from the bullies Luke would no doubt encounter in school.

However, if I'm wrong, and there was a time that Holden was being an asshole (I refuse to believe that he still is), and you can find some footage of that time on YouTube, I'd love to see it.

Sorry if I disagree, but I think it is getting the "hype" (or let's use a word I prefer -- praise) that it deserves. Why shouldn't a bold move be praised? It runs counter to the expectations and will of even some on this very board -- that TV show producers and writers should cower in fear of what the soon to be totally marginal remaining homophobes in this country (and eventually the world) think about such things.

It was a bold move, and ought to be praised so that it won't be the last same-sex kiss we see, and that heteroaffectional and homoaffectional relationships are treated completely equally.

I think they meant gay male kiss. The one between Bianca and Lena didn't count as "gay" in their eyes. They would probably specifically delineate "lesbian" if they were to mention it, although it's doubtful that the OP would bother to pay attention to lesbian kisses on daytime. I don't think they swing that way, and unlike some of us, don't bother to keep up on such things. I watched for the Bianca/Lena thing, because I knew it would pave the way for a homoaffectional male kiss, but it's probably not something they would go that far to think about.

Ten? Try one other. I think you are thinking of all the dumb Zac Effron threads. I'd rather see hundred threads on this than one on that loser. Anyway, wait till the father walks in on them kissing or in bed. You know someone is gonna catch them. I can't wait to see the 1st love scene with some cheesy top 40 song in the background and candles everywhere!
