I personally think its good it was leaked!! This SHOULD be highlighted!! WHat happened is shocking and ANY abuse to a women is sick!! It may not look really bad, but its bad enough!! i for one, would not like to be smacked around and have bruising etc for ANY reason or to any extent!

So , Yes its sad it was leaked for Rihanna ( her Privacy , etc ) , BUT GOOD, coz it needed to be highlighted!

Will do. But that doesn't mean just because she's a celebrity and it wasn't as bad as some women's beatings, that it isn't still a problem.

Chris' career is fucked after this, his main fanbase are tween/teen girls and although some of them will still be blind to any of this, he is going to take a big hit. Maybe if it wasn't a famous star he assaulted it wouldn't be that big of a deal to the public, which is sad.

Am I the only one who thinks it doesn't even look that bad? I've seen people who got their ass kicked, who had a hell of a lot more bruises then that. I think it's just that the picture was taken without her wearing any makeup, which ultimately makes her look busted up.

Could just be that the photo is rather dull due to the TMZ logo across her face. I'd like to see the unedited high quality version.

My best girly pal was attacked by her fella, she suffered a broken jaw, two broken eye sockets, cut lip, burst eye, among other non facial injuries, and looked (sorry hun) like hell. This, on the other hand looks like a slight case of anaphylactic shock! sorry but - er, publicity call - keep me in the papers

Sorry but that will be gone in no time, my pal took 6 months to heal - and thank christ now here in UK the police prosecute whether or not the vic wants to or not - he got 18 months, time for her to get over him and move on.

Why does it matter that people have been beat up worse than this? Domestic violence is domestic violence to me, but that's just me. I'm less concerned with "Who's had it worse" and more concerned with the physical, mental, and emotional health of the parties involved.

At the risk of incurring the wrath of other posters here and dragging this way off topic let me say this, I don’t fully understand why on the whole society still judges that there’s never an acceptable reason for a man to hit a woman but there is for one man to hit another or for a woman to hit a man. If the roles had been reversed in this situation with Rhianna hitting Chris Brown would there be the widespread judgement and criticism we’ve seen? I doubt it.

It just strikes me as odd that there’s still such a huge double standard on this subject.

And for the record this isn’t excusing what Brown may or may not have done or suggesting that there’s an acceptable motivation behind it. My point is that its completely unacceptable regardless of the sexes involved.

Is this supposed to excuse Chris Brown from this just because it "wasnt as bad" as what your friend got?

Domestic violence is domestic violence. I heard she was provoking him but that's still not license to get beaten. A slap is one thing, THIS is another story. Even if she hit him, all he had to do was call police or hit her back but doing all that to her face is not necessary.

For the 10,000,000,000th time, discoloration isn't immediate, to an extent nor is swelling. And "not that bad" and "domestic abuse" don't really belong together. It's easy to say "not that bad" when it's someone you don't know. If Rihanna were a female friend or sister would you calmly pat her shoulder and say "Girl, it's not THAT bad.

I'm at a loss. Some of the comments here are scary. My parents taught me that it is never acceptable to hit a woman. This is supposedly someone he loves. Even if she struck him first, what is so hard about walking away, cooling off and then discussing the matter like rational human beings. Instead, he beats her up. Must have made him feel like a real big man. Pathetic!
