Flawed Cartoon Characters

I actually remember the early version of Linus the Lion.

Linus had a mean streak with a look in his eyes to match. There was something almost evil about him, kinda sadistic!
Using Linus as the mascot for Post Crispy Critters cereal soon became a big mistake.
The reaction from parents was immediate. TV stations were flooded with complaints.
Media watchdog organizations like, "Action for Children's Television", and the National PTA soon took to the air to denounce Post cereal.

Under pressure, to say the least, changes were made to Linus to make him more lovable. Sheldon Leonard was retained as the voice of Linus.
A character redesign made Linus friendlier in appearance. And the animal-shaped cereal stampede whenever Linus said "Crispy Critters" was played up for effect.
The result worked. Linus the Lion became popular enough to garner his own Saturday morning cartoon show.

In each Crispy Critters commercial, Linus would be tricked into saying the name of the cereal. You knew he would, and here comes the stampede!

That's kind of the expression that the pervert baby sitter has right before he makes his move.

I'm old enough to remember these commercials, but I don't. Not even the stampede theme.

A childhood friend thought it was hilarious to take the Crispy Critters tagline and change it. You might have fun doing it too. Fill in the blanks:

"The one and only _____ that comes in the shape of _____."
