You just knew the donkeys would find a way to fuck up their wet dream of an election year.

SMIRK...........

Yeah, we should just take a page out of the GOP playbook and steal the election.

That's the Amurrikkkan way, reich? I mean, right?

I think what he was saying was that Florida's Republicans are having the same disagreement with the RNC. It's not getting as much press, because Florida Republicans lack the balls to say to the RNC ". . .wait a fuckin' minute!"

Read more about it here. TBO.com (WFLA TV8 and the Tampa Tribune)

Thanks RA ! ;)

Who is the RNC Chair? Didnt the last one JUST quit?

(on edit)

Mike Duncan is the new RNC Chair... Never heard of him

Mel Martinez (Republican Senator from Florida) was the former sitting chairman of the RNC but he resigned earlier this month. Mike Duncac managed the day-to-day operations of the RNC while Martinez served both as chairman and Senator. With Martinez's resignation, Duncan was made chairman. Duncan has been heavily involved in the RNC for a number of years and is a big time investment banker from Kentucky.

Okay, now that Florida has "broken spades," it will be interesting to see what Michigan does. If Michigan pushes its primary into January, I doubt that the DNC will stick to its guns.

the earlier and earlier primaries and caucuses needs to be arrest - the calendar is insane

Michigan - and I am speaking as an officer in the state party system - so far is holding - and thus Michigan and the DNC could be on a major collision course

since Michigan Dems have used caucuses since 1976...

and the Republicans are concerned that since most candidates have opted out of the Democratic primary leaving it possible for many Dems to vote in the gop primary (as we did in 2000 to block Bush and support McCain) they may not want to have a primary either..

and as we have a severe budget problem in Michigan, we are raising taxes and may still be short, and we might have another state government shut down on taxes and budget issues as we did on October 1st (for a few hours)...

and since the primary is estimated as costing $10 million...

I suspect that Michigan may ditch the primary to save the state's money and somewhat avoid the confrontation with the DNC and RNC -

but then we'd still have the possibility of a too-early caucus by the DNC calendar

we don't need this shit (ie the question over seating our delegates) since we need unity for the 2008 election -

but I am not sure how to get out of this morass

In addition to losing it's delegates, national Democratic candidates for president, like Sens. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and Barack Obama (D-IL), have agreed not to tread into the Sunshine state. The candidates have chosen not to toil for votes in any state that does not comply with the Democratic National Committee's (DNC) nominating calendar.

Did they change their minds or did the DNC relinquish ?

Did they change their minds or did the DNC relinquish ?

Well~ I don’t think ALL the Democratic candidates agreed to “not tread” in the Sunshine state …

Sens. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (Del.) and Christopher J. Dodd (Conn.), along with New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, signed the pledge within hours on Friday. By yesterday, Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) and Barack Obama (Ill.), and former senator John Edwards of North Carolina, had joined them. [Link] (WARNING: link contains images of nudity)

^^ True

HRC was reportedly not going down or the news link was incorrect.

But I see where "fundraising appearances" are exempt :rotflmao:

The candidates agreed not to campaign in Florida. That doesn't mean they can't fundraise in the state.

EDIT: And I just saw where opinterph posted my original comment about the issue.
