Just because a place has a large and diverse population doesn't mean it cannot be a shithole. Ever been to Nigeria, Pakistan or the DRC? Never again for me.

That would indeed be one way to describe it.

I've seen shitty parts of Nigeria, Pakistan and the DRC full of people drawn in from even shittier parts of Nigeria, Pakistan and the DRC. Or from Niger, Afghanistan and the CAF. You get my point. So thanks for the metaphor, it was actually accurate.
 
I don't care for Jacksonville...it's a messy confusing city with not much of a downtown. When I was there last it seemed like I was constantly going over a bridge I didn't want to go over.

It IS Florida's largest city due to a city-county consolidation that incorporated almost all the suburbs.

But Jacksonville has a lovely beach and some nice homes I'd never live there, though.

I was in Tampa last December. It's not perfect...way too many beggars and homeless. But I could live there
 
I think you have to do better than that, Zeno. Your logic is too close to Yogi Berra's "nobody goes there any more."

You cite third world locations with urban areas that may draw immigrants with commerce and employment.

Every year, thousands of Northeasterners like FPNY leave their region and retire to Florida, and it isn't because they think it a shithole. You may need to be closer to get it.

I wanted to move to Florida ages ago i can scratch that!

That is no Florida distinctive. Canada had the guy who stabbed his seatmate to death on a bus and proceeded to cut his head off and eat his eyes and heart.

Sounds like people are crazy, not merely Floridians.

That said, they'll miss you, especially the homeless ones.
