A man pardoned by President Donald Trump for his January 6 riot charges is on the run from child-sex charges after Federal authorities failed to hand him over to state police as requested, according to a district attorney.

Andrew Taake, 36, was awaiting trial for alleged online solicitation of a minor in Houston, when he pleaded guilty to his January 6 charge of assaulting law enforcement.

While Taake was cleared of his federal conviction, according to the Harris County District Attorney's (DA) Office, he should have been held in federal prison after his pardon long enough for Texas police to arrest him over the state child-sex charges.

David Daniel of North Carolina had pleaded guilty to . While searching Daniel's phone, investigators found pictures of Daniel having sex with a 12 year old minor. Since Daniel has been pardoned, there is now a question about whether the evidence gathered after Daniel's Jan 6 crimes arrest can be used to charge him with rape and child porn possession.

This was Daniel's second time being accused of having sex with minors and possessing underaged videos on his phone. In 2021, North Carolina police found videos of Daniel with a different minor who had accused Daniel of forcing her to have sex with him.

David Paul Daniel, 37, of Mint Hill, North Carolina, pleaded guilty on January 8, 2025, to the felony offense of assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers, during the Capitol Hill riots, according to the Department of Justice – but months earlier, he was arrested on child pornography charges.

Now, as Trump lifts the criminal convictions on those who participated in the violent riots, Daniel could see his federal child sex abuse charges waivered in tandem with the pardoning of his January 6 assault charges.

During a frantic search of his home in November 2023, following the January 6 assault charges, FBI and Mint Hill police officers recovered his iPhone and multiple other electronic devices which allegedly held child sex abuse images of Daniel and a female minor, younger than 12, taken between 2015 and 2019, according to federal court documents seen by Queen City News.

A Mint Hill man arrested and charged with storming the capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 is back in jail on new federal charges.

David Daniel was arrested in September on federal charges that he manufactured and possessed child pornography...

According to the affidavit, federal investigators discovered images they believed to be child pornography on the cell phone seized from David when he was arrested in November 2023 on charges related to the January 6 insurrection.

As the federal investigation continued, the affidavit said, investigators learned Mint Hill Police had also seized a cell phone from David in 2021 after a victim came forward and detailed David taking pictures of her and forcing her to engage in sexual activity as a minor....

According to the affidavit, investigators found images of the second minor female on the cell phone they seized from him in November 2023.

I've given up on explaining to the right (and some on the left) that a pardon is basically just "you don't have to be in prison anymore." Their convictions stand and this affects their right to vote and own firearms depending on where they live. A small slice of comfort.

I was just asking, politely, for the names of the cops you claim to have been killed at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 in Washington DC.

I want to get their names so that we can honor them….against those garbage, basket of deplorables.
