For married men and ex-straight men

It's a bit tiring repeating this but I suppose it can't be helped.

The reason why these men in their 40's and 50's are coming out now is because when they were growing up their generation wouldn't allow them to come out. Coming out would have meant being isolated from all their friend's, kicked out of the house, fired from their jobs, and being a complete outcast to society. No one should have to go through that. They married so that way no one would accuse them of being gay. But even though they married and had kids (well not all of them did) they can't deny the fact that they are gay forever.

The most obvious reason is the freedom from escaping hiding in the closet, having to pretend to like women, pretending to please society, and to finally be who they are and what they want to be. Not to mention a new exploration and adventure in life.

That's the reason. But if you think they should have come out in their 20's or so. It's even sadder for the ones who actually die in the closet and never letting them know.

That and religion also played a big factor and tried to convince those that were gay that they were "sinning" and jesus could save them or something.

There's no point in coming out if you're married. You either stay married and stay "straight" (and celibate), or you get divorced, come out, and start having sex with guys. That, or you have a REALLY understanding wife.

>>>thanks shep but I don't know how to send a pm

Click his name (on the left of his post), and select "Send a Private Message". Pretty simple. :)

>>>I have another question will you be psychologically insane if you stayed in a heterosexual relationship?

Totally depends how gay you are, and how sane you are, I guess.

I was married and had a son. I now have 2 of the greatest grandsons.
I do not regret getting married but it did not last long.

I had come out before the marriage, I got married in the service because I was lonely and I was drunk

I have another question will you be psychologically insane if you stayed in a heterosexual relationship? recently I watched a video of Richard Cohen on YouTube and he acted kinda insane and weird LOL
You either stay celibate and go crazy with desire, or cheat on her.

Neither one is a good solution for anybody.
