I am asking for a preference in a choice, the act of choosing, not the object of choice.

I will now explain my choice of the theatre.

Both are works of fine engineering, but the bridge is an expedient.

The theatre is an act of will on the landscape and was meant to be filled with song and poetry and big ideas.

It is a structure meant to lift a collective to joy and sorrow and comtemplation of the human condition.

It has a higher purposive intention.
