Yes, i know there is a sticky related to this, and there may be a few other threads that go along with this title (actually, im not sure, but i did check a week or two ago).

Really, what i wanted to know is, who actually has fordyce spots?

Bascially, you can get them:-
  • On your penis
  • On your testicles
  • On your lips
  • In your mouth

I'm sure you can get them in other places, but i'll have to do a bit more research.

I 'suffer' from fordyce spots. They're not very pretty to look at and to be honest, i've always thought it was some kind of STD or STI. But because i've always used a condom, i thought the chances that it could be an STI were pretty slim. Anyway, i went to my doctor about it, and he told me some things about it, and it's NOT contagious. Which is a relief, and it's NOT a STI.

You can also calm it down by cutting out dairy products of your diet, apparently.

Really, i created this thread to shed some relief to those who have it, and to see how common it is. On most porn pictures i see, i haven't found any porn star with these spots, which worried me a little, as i thought it was a 1 in 100 kind of thing, but my doctor assured me that it is common. If you don't know what it is, then i can find some pics on the net or something, or just google 'fordyce spots' into google images.

Please fill in the poll, it will be relief to myself to know that it's more common that i think. It will put my mind at ease. :-)
 
Yeah, I do. For the longest time I thought there was something wrong with me, but, meh, whatever. I asked my dermatologist when I was younger what was on my penis, and he told me what they were. What I didn't know until now was that they can happen on your lips, too - I always just thought that I had pigmentation issues, but I guess that's not the case, hahaha.

It's interesting how you say if you cut dairy out of your diet that it can calm them down... I say that because I'm lactose intolerant, so I don't eat any at all.
 
Well, that's what i read. I'm not too sure if it's true. I'm to stubborn to give up milk, i like it too much. Fordyce spot i shall be damned with! :)
 
I had them REALLY badly a few years ago, then I was put on a low dose of roaccutane for mild acne and they dissapeared almost completely.
It's always said there is no cure for them but I know roaccutane works by reducing the size of sebum glands, and I know fordyce's spots are created by oversized oil glands, so I'm pretty sure it was the roaccutane that got rid of them.
So either doctor's dont know this, or it's not worth prescribing roaccutane for fordyce's spots.
 
Aaah, guys, i have a problem.

I'm meeting my 'friend' tomorrow, and when we usually have sex, it's in the dark. But he's coming around tomorrow morning, and i'm he'll see my Fordyce Spots and be like 'wft?'

Does it turn off any guys? Will everything be ok?
 
honestly i have seen them less than rarely. and more people than you think have them, many just less visible. even porn stars have them - just because you don't see them on some crappy low-res pic that doesn't mean they don't have them.
 
It seems to be more of an uncut thing. I can see where I would have them but I guess all the rubbing against underwear must wear them down and make them less pronounced.

You might think I'm weird but whenever I've been with uncut guys I always thought they were kind of neat.
 
Old thread I know but I suffer from it too. I've had it since I was around 13, I don't know what to do about it. Any suggestions?
 
Don't do anything. It's not a disease, nor is it a deformity.
 
yeah i have'em even on the insides of my lips even. sometimes i bit on'em and they get a bit sore. i also have strange lumps in my bottom lip that have always been there. i think they're the same thing. anyway you can't see either at all unless you're like an inch away in a bright light and i pull my lip out.

You could get surgeory done, i read about it a while ago, but it's very expensive are it's only skin at the end of the day. ( i know i'm being a bit hypocritical as i said i was nervous about someone seeing it before, but i'm over it now).

Chances are you meet a guy who has it too. And it's not contagious. And i suppose if a guy leaves you over it, or a girl, then they're a twat!

Also, i think i read somewhere that women can also have fordyce spots. And apparently now to me, it's no that uncommon.
