No, these people need to live, and they need to continue speaking this truth for the rest of their days as penance for the wheels they set in motion. It's not my place to say whether or not they deserve forgiveness, but they sure as hell deserve to spend their lives trying to achieve it.

I went back and listened again. She sounds sincere--the men just sound like, "Oops, my bad, hee hee."

Their ‘apologies’ are recorded (see post #1) - easy to reproduce and distribute - so they needn’t [strike]hang around[/strike] linger.

Maybe they could be reenacted by people who act sincere?

There's no amount of them showing up at Gay and Lesbian centers and robotically reading prepared statements that will ever reverse even a small amount of what they did.

But a few suicide pacts would make GREAT news reels. And I'll bet that if they do it in big enough fashion, a few parents might think twice about forcing their kids to go to those "re-education camps" where they might meet the same fate.

I can see where them appearing in front of straight groups might be helpful. But, there no reason for even one gay gay person to ever have to listen them.
