Fresh off the Tiller murder, this should give the Church some nice additional publicity. Of course, he was Alan Keyes' VP candidate apparently, so given the association with that nutball, this shouldn't be a surprise.




Wiley Drake, pastor of First Southern Baptist Church in Buena Park, Calif., and former running mate of American Independent Party presidential candidate Alan Keyes, said June 2 on Fox News Radio he didn't understand why people were upset with his comments quoted by Associated Baptist Press from a webcast of his daily radio talk show.

Later in the interview, Colmes returned to Drake's answer to make sure he heard him right.

"Are you praying for his death?" Colmes asked.

"Yes," Drake replied.

"So you're praying for the death of the president of the United States?"

If you had ever resided in a major southern city that was dominated by the Southern Baptist Church you would fully understand the term fucking lunatics.

Jacksonville, Florida, a city of roughly 1,000,000, is home to the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, which is the 2nd or 3rd largest such congregation.

The city has the dubious distinction of being the only city in the country where the Chippendales were required to wear trucks that were less revealing.

I kid you not - this happened in the eighties, as I recall.

Now you know why I refuse to be associated with the Southern Baptists. Learning Christianity in my childhood was enough for me.

I live in Nashville, TN and they have had their convention here before. Seems like these people are far more interested in politics than being Christians (helping and loving others).

So we have a preacher praying for his death. Last year, at a McCain rally, there were shouts from the crowd, "Kill him." Sarah Palin was saying he palled around terrorists. Now we have Sen. Inhofe suggesting Obama sides with the terrorists.

What we have here is NOT a failure to communicate. The right-wing is consciously inciting violence against our president.

Of course, God answering the reverend's prayers would give us the tombstone toothed, bad hair plugged, botox addicted, dim witted used car salesman, Joe Biden as president. Obama didn't pick him by accident. Probably the smartest thing he ever did.

Biden virtually ensures that nothing untoward would ever happen to Obama. Biden is the only human that makes Dan Quayle look like a genius!

Well, it definitely wasn't because he was the sharpest knife in the drawer. Maybe hanging with an idiot like Biden makes Obama feel really smart. And Delaware isn't exactly an electoral powerhouse, so that leaves the insurance theory pretty much the only logical alternative. ..|
