I seem to recall that Cheney had had cardiac problems for years, including when he was serving as V-P.

Well, if we want to share the blame, Iraq was the rare war that had Congressional authorization - the 2002 vote was 296-133 in the House and 77-23 in the Senate. The authorization was finally repealed last month, after years of failed attempts by Senators from both parties to remove it. At the same time, they finally repealed the 1991 authorization for the first Iraq War!

Dick Cheney has been gone from power since 2009, so the 17 years since then are on the Senate.

When serving in the Gerald Ford administration, Dick Cheney was the youngest Chief of Staff ,at age 34 or 35.

One of the great turning points in history was Tony Blair siding the UK with the US, on the road to war!
It was like Dick Cheney had cast a spell on Tony Blair - it seemed so surreal.
