Formula to attraction?

Is there any known formula to gay physical and/or emotional attractions?

Has any research been done that perhaps we want what we don't have -- smooth guys like hairy, skinny likes muscle, short likes tall, tall likes short, shy likes outgoing, etc.? I'm guessing here.

Opposites do not always attract, or repel. If human life were so predictable! How boring it would all be.

The human condition is much too complicated to imagine that human emotional, and sexual interactions can be conveniently, and tidily packaged into a formula that pretends to predict human sensual responses to stimuli.

Visit any gay bar and note the different types of homosexual person, then understand that despite sharing a common sexual interest in our own gender, how different we are in so many different respects.This also applies to the heterosexual person.

I am very happy to know myself as an individual human person, rather than as a manifestation of predictable behaviour.

I also believe that the human body releasing phermones can and does
heighten the feelings you can pick up from someone else, like when someone
says wow it was just pure instant attraction .

I agree and everyone is unique to a certain degree but we do have similarities and human based patterns sometimes in terms of majority. I'm not looking for a black and white rule but instead a possible connection between behaviors within a medium to high probability range.

Yeah, seriously there are a lot of variables... how horny are you? what are they wearing? are they reminding you of someone? does their smell bring back past experiences? what is their current energy level and mood? ...
