That's right, "Kids" ... Polaroids! Are there any of you that don't know what they are/were? Way back, before the Digital Age, Polaroids were the only way to take 'instant' pictures, and not have to take the film in to get developed (by strangers). Um ... do you know about film?
ANYWAY ... I was rummaging through a drawer, and ran across a stack of Polaroids that I'd taken of myself, and "Animal". I'm guessing they're around 15yr. old, or so. That would put me in my mid 40's, though some of them look later than that. And, yeah!, even at THAT age, taking self-pics was FUN!
I didn't realize there were 56 of them until I started scanning. I decided not to 'mess' with them in PhotoShop, adjusting exposure, color, etc., nor even attempting to 'clean them up', or doing any other retouching. I'm using the excuse of conserving/presenting them in their 'historic' condition, as opposed to me just being too lazy to 'touch' all of them.
Though these were the "Instant" type, and not the (even older) "Peal Off" kind, Polaroids were not noted for their great color rendition, or capture of fine detail, and these have aged quite a bit. The flash, in many of them, has 'obliterated' most of my 'fur', especially on my arms, legs, thighs, etc. Some batches of the 'film' tended toward the Blue (cold) end of the spectrum, and some have a Yellowish cast. None of which is in any way 'flattering'.
SO ... without further adieu ... and, no, I'm not going to post them all at once ... Here goes some "THEN" pics of Me!
