Fox News airs parody of Obama personally funding Muslim Museum

I was extremely dubious this was truly an "accident" too. But I wanted to see what you all thought…
That's what flamers and trolls do.

…How do they get away with this?
Have you spoken to your representative in government?

… Fox News routinely distorts…And they claim it is ……Fox still supports …
How many hours a week do you watch this TV network? I assume you've got a remote control to change the channel; we have 24 free TV networks in our country.

The ability to change the channel has absolutely no bearing on a criticism of the journalistic integrity (or complete lack thereof) of a given channel pawning off partisan propaganda as "fair and balanced" news.

My remote will only affect my TV. It won't end the stream of lies that make up Fox broadcasting. A country living on lies is destined to lose its freedoms to the best set of liars.

Do not watch Fox Never met anyone stupid enough to watch it.

Well that sounds sensible of you. I don't waste my time with dullards either.

Are you saying that Rupert Murdoch employs the best high-quality liars?

If we suspect lies in broadcast TV we complain to them directly.

But haven’t you Americans got those TV shows The Young Turks and Jon Stewart which can complain on your behalf about other commercial broadcasters?

We have a 15 minute show on our government broadcaster every week which monitors other media workers' work— it whines over big issues and nit-picks over little issue like spelling errors.

The government broadcaster also runs this—

^ It shows how ignorant you are about American TV.

FOX successfully won the right in court to lie under the second amendment. There is no body to complain to about this in the US.

I'm sure that given your loathing for PC police, that you would love living in this free-for-all paradise.

Fortunately Jon Stewart is one of the tireless champions in exposing the lies flowing like lava from 'Bullshit Mountain'. The real harm though is that the FOX audience is so stupid that they don't even realize that they are being lied to by the minions of the Koch cabal.
It is in the interests of the Australian Murdoch and the Saudi prince who control the FOX empire to let Roger Ailes spread disinformation and curry racism, homophobia and wilful ignorance in order to help the Republicans they own win elections.

........the FOX audience is so stupid ...There is no body to complain to about this in the US......

What are you doing about it— apart from whining here?

Don't Americans speak to their Representative or Congressperson? I speak to my Federal and State Parliamentarian at least once a year.

Well, as a Canadian, we are protected from the abuses of FOX to a great degree, although they do broadcast across the border. We are certainly protected from the Canadian media knowingly lying and distorting the truth through the CRTC. What you aren't getting here is that a US Appeals Court re-iterated the rights of corporations to lie.

Our 1st Amendment free speech protections is very robust thanks to federal courts. With few exceptions it can almost never be violated. Defamation and slander, however, are not protected forms of lying.

I get it when conservatives feel like defending one of their own who does something debatable. But when it is something unambiguously stupid, why invest so much in pretending it was just fine, or smart, or actually right or whatever. Just say "yep, that was dumb; their credibility just went down" and move on. It makes conservatives look unhinged to be defending this crap.

I can't believe no one has commented on the tongue in cheek 'error'.

Perhaps you mistake appearance with reality in this case. It is my overarching impression that people do not arrive at the point of being Fox News-viewing Republicans by virtue of their unmitigating regard for facts and the truth. They arrive there by seeking out in the world confirmation of the way they wish to view it, where most of their problems are phantom Marxists and dark-skinned people who 'stole' their under-the-table 80 hour/week kitchen job, and not the fact that they voted for people spouting the correct bumper sticker slogans on abortion while helping to move their real jobs out of the country and easing taxes on the rich.

Actual conservatives wouldn't be defending this crap. What we have here are reactionaries, who are cowards too afraid of looking bad to admit that someone they call their own might have screwed up.

.
Since Fox is its own (unintentional) self-parody, it has lost the ability to know the difference between "real" news and satire. This might be a result of Fox believing its own lies.
