"some people say"

Here's a real idiot:

"Some people say" that Roger Ailes trains monkeys to broadcast the news.

"some people say"

the interviewee should reply by saying, "who? give one name please" If the interviewer don't give a name the interview should stop right there.

Keep in mind there are millions of people in the U.S. that believe *every* word they hear on Fox "News".

It's nothing short of terrifying.

What's tragic is that FOX has stunted their follower's / believer's critical thinking skills. These FOX fans see their heros using logical fallacy after logical fallacy, and it dulls their thinking and reinforces their cognitive dissonance.

If you notice any time someone is critical of inaccurate reporting on FOX, the fan boys frantically start posting argumentum ad populumism. They think that because FOX has higher ratings than __________, FOX is correct and right. Right after posting about how great the ratings are, they launch into ad hominem attacks against people stating the facts.

If you played a drinking game watching any FAUX News show whereby you must take a shot / drink after every logical fallacy the broadcaster uses, you'd be drunk and ready to pass out within 20 minutes of starting the game. I'm quite serious.

So the next time you watch a FOX News show, see how many different logical fallacies you can spot. You will be amazed at how blatant it is and the cognitive distortions they encourage. Here's a few of the fallacies FOX engages in:

Fallacy of Accident or Sweeping Generalization
Converse Fallacy of Accident or Hasty Generalization
Argument by innuendo
Begging the question
Straw man
Argument by innuendo
Argumentum verbosium

Which fallacies and lazy thinking tactics have you seen on FAUX?

Fallacy of Accident or Sweeping Generalization
Converse Fallacy of Accident or Hasty Generalization
Argument by innuendo
Begging the question
Straw man
Argument by innuendo
Argumentum verbosium

Someone with critical thinking ability can pick those up in just about every story.

I still think their Teaparty fraud is about the lowest that they've gone.

It is because they've seen the FOX bobble heads do this. O'Reilly just shouts anyone down now with the 'FOX's numbers are bigger than anyone else's'. There not even a pretense of disourse anymore.

By the same token, that must mean that when National Socialism was the most popular political movement in Germany, everything that Hilter said was right.

See what I just did there, Glen Beck?

If I was President I would have converted FOX News into a political action organization, and therefore restricted on air, and in their financial dealings on anything. They are not a news organization.

This dumbing down of America has always been a Republican platform. By gutting public education and related spending, the masses become even less adept and intelligent. This benefits conservatives in three ways. Firstly, a less educated workforce means you get to pay them less. Secondly, by gutting the public education they can cut spending to give themselves larger tax cuts for the top 2% of Americans. Thirdly, you have an even less enlightened electorate so that the lies and ridiculous sound bytes Republicans love to tout, the electorate is too stupid to know the difference and the country's history.

The electorate is already so stupid they buy into the lottery mentality to support tax cuts for the top 1% of tax payers. They think some day they just might win the lottery and my god, they don't want to pay those high taxes then. Of course they're too dumb to figure out that they aren't ever going to win the lottery by being in that top 1%, especially when they don't have advanced degrees. Naivety in the extreme.
