Fox News Analyst Reminds Us What Neil Armstrong’s Death Is Really About: Obama Spreading Islam

ooops, can't have pics of kids in the forum but thanks for posting it.

A question that should be asked -- why did he do it? Did he do it for votes?

No, I don't think he DID do it for votes. See, as much as I didn't like him (and trust me, I didn't like him A LOT) I would never presume to strip him of his humanity and claim he was not human or capable of real human feelings.

Your extreme hatred of Obama is one of objectification to the point where you can't conceive of him as a real person with real feelings. The right wing attempts to objectify him and turn him into an alien has worked with you and those on your side.

I'm sure he was just as bummed out about the loss of Neil Armstrong as the rest of us were.

The picture was a the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA paying TRIBUTE to the memory of Neil Armstrong and all you can do is bitch that he was IN the picture. If he WASN'T in the picture then what would be the fucking point??

You then went on to claim (at least I think it was you) that we on the left would feel the same about a poignant picture of George Bush. You were proved wrong so you changed the goalpost to say that Obama was only paying tribute for votes??????????

You can't conceive of him as being anything more than a cardboard villain who has come to represent all that you (on the right) hate.

It is extremely irrational and I would very much like to do this to you:

HA...

great video!

presidents are very concerned about what they think of as their legacy. It drives them to make sure there is something that every american can point to and see as an expression of american values.

The pictures and such are part of that. They are just as important as the Uk's royal pageantry. It reminds them and us that these people are human, and that they symbolize the hopes, dreams, and values of the people of their nation.

If Armstrong's death was a campaign photo-op for Obama, why didn't he do one?

who?

Romney?

My post was meant to jar the conservatives here into thinking that one man's stunt, is another man's inspiration. It really is all in how we personally process it.

@ Benvolio.

And not 'Child's Sadness = campaign photo op for Bush'

It must be terrible to not be able to see beauty.

He and Springer totally lack imagination, too.

I can look at that picture and see Obama paying tribute to Armstrong, but with a feeling of despair, because he's longing for the greatness Armstrong achieved, but knows he doesn't have what it takes, that he'll always be mediocre, never approach greatness. That would be fuel for putting down Obama, but instead they make themselves look inane.

Dang Andy, had no idea you were so violent.

I've said this before and will probably have to say it again. I don't hate Obama. I think it's great that he broke the color barrier for President. The thread is about how Monica Crowley screwed up her response to Neil Armstrong's death -- everyone jumped on her.

I merely pointed out with a photo and link from the President's tumblr site how the President looked at Armstrong's death -- he published a photo of himself looking at the moon -- that was not necessary and reeked of self-love not sympathy for Armstrong's death or Armstrong's family. To me it was about the same as a celebrity attending a funeral and passing out autographed pictures of himself.

I did not bring up GWB -- someone else did.

I don't like Obama because of his economic performance. He's lost and has no idea what's he's doing in regards to the economy.

How can you ignore his performance and lack of leadership with the economy.

You want to hit me Andy. I want to give you a hug .... maybe squeeze your ass a little as I do.

As someone JUST said to me, "kitty has claws"

You want to hit me Andy. I want to give you a hug .... maybe squeeze your ass a little as I do.

Mr. Springer, I was NOT advocating "hitting" you!! Bette does NOT hit Miriam Hopkins in that movie!!! She shakes her by the shoulders after years of pent up frustration! (check!) ;)

I would NEVER strike one of my "elders" (ooooooohhhhh I said it!!)

You never offered to squeeze my ass. :(

Talk about mean. You don't like my ass... just go ahead and say it:twisted:

Thanks for making this place more interesting Mr Springer.(*8*)

It's funny that there are so many people saying that they don't hate Obama, yet they heap on lies and ire on him that no other President has seen.

I've yet to see any other President have his birthplace, religion, allegiance, upbringing and ideology questioned, analyzed and torn down as much as Obama. No one ever accused Bush or Clinton of lying about being born an American or secretly conspiring against America. Yes, they had their critics and deriders, but even they never were accused of being gay, Muslim or socialist. And yet Obama - despite there being no proof whatsoever - is still constantly called a "gay Muslim socialist". Every single move Obama makes (or doesn't make) is analyzed, criticized and used to "prove" that he's an evil America-hating homosexual baby-killer. Even Clinton's haters never stooped as low as to go beyond calling him a "cheating hillbilly horndog". Those that disagreed with Bush never accused him of lying about his birthplace and constantly asking him for a birth certificate already presented TWICE.

The ironic part is that most of these people heaping hatred upon Obama are the very same people that, if they heard anyone so much as say that they didn't like what tie Bush II was wearing, would scream "WHY DO YOU HATE AMERICA DON'T QUESTION THE PRESIDENT YOU COMMIE THE FBI SHOULD THROW YOU IN GITMO AND WATERBOARD YOU!"

It's one thing to dislike a President or his policies - it's another to heap scorn on every single fucking thing he does, constantly accuse him of lying about his own history (despite all the evidence that backs him up) and continually fling lies, half truths and distortions at him 24/7. The sheer level of hate aimed at Barack Obama is just irrational and unhealthy.

Well you know interestingly enough about Neil Armstrong and Islam is that Muslim's made up a myth that he converted to Islam after hearing the call of prayer on the Moon.

God those people are desperate to get converts. Christians are just as bad though like that myth of Charles Darwin's death bed confession.

This.

It puts the lie to the obsessive hate campaign that people like Springer mount every day.

I'd have way more respect if the partisan haters just fessed up and came out and said that the idea of this man in the Oval Office is so personally repugnant to them as to make them spew up bile, than the erosive and corrosive ugliness that surfaces even from a simple photo.

I mean.

For fuck's sakes.

What what better way to honor Armstrong than for Obama to put a photo of himself looking at the sky on his website?

Not surprised it is too subtle for ya.

But you're late to the party.

Like he gave Queen Elizabeth a collection of his speeches. What a narcissist personality.

yeah kinda like people who quote themselves.

Like he gave Queen Elizabeth a collection of his speeches. What a narcissist personality.

This time, Queen Elizabeth received a leather-bound album with memorabilia and photos of her parents’ (King George VI and Queen Elizabeth) 1939 trip to the U.S., the first such visit by a reigning British monarch. For horse lover Prince Philip, a custom-made set of bits and shanks and horseshoes worn by Jamaica, a U.S. champion carriage horse. Gardeners Prince Charles and Camilla got a selection of plants, seeds and honey from the grounds of Mount Vernon, Monticello and White House.

The queen presented Obama with letters (copies, actually) from the royal archives between Queen Victoria and several U.S. presidents; the first lady received an antique gold and coral brooch.

But:

He's smart enough to know that the Queen's library is one on the envies of the scholarly world. One of his other gifts: having an IPOD loaded with:

* Photos from the Queen’s 2007 White House State Visit
* Photos from the Queen’s 2007 Jamestown, Va., Visit
* Photos from the Queen’s 2007 Richmond, Va., Visit
* Video from the Queen’s 1957 Jamestown Visit
* Video from the Queen’s 2007 Jamestown Visit
* Video from the Queen’s 2007 Richmond Visit
* Photos from President Obama’s Inauguration
* Audio of then-state senator Obama’s speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, and
* Audio of President Obama 2009 Inauguration Address

...is an historical artifact that even 100 years from now will be recognized as being as important as an autographed recording of Edison's early recording of Mary had a little lamb.
