I hope you're having a great weekend.

I've just noticed a weird fact. The 80th meridian runs just east of where I live, in the Atlantic Ocean. But the entire continent of South America is east of the 80th meridian, except for a tiny bit of Peru and Ecuador. So you're probably east of me, though you're not far from the Pacific.

FYI, those little lines that run north and south on maps are meridians. The lines that run east and west on maps are called parallels. Somebody decided way back when that it was a good idea to impose this imaginary grid over the earth's surface.
