I have noticed in porn that guys under thirty that are circumcised
also have had their frenulum removed or most of it. I really like this look, smooth and clean. I am curious when this trend started and why. Is it the result of the AID's epidemic ? Or for some other reason. Did it start in the 80's - 90's ?

There are different types of circumcision- both ritual and elective circumcisions. What many people don't realize that in many infants the foreskin is attached to the head (glans) of the penis; the foreskin doesn't separate from the glans until much later in childhood- often shortly before puberty.

So, in a complete circumcision on an infant- one that removes the entire foreskin, it is very difficult to retain the frenulum because it usually adheres to both the foreskin and the glans.

In a partial circumcision, only the tip of the foreskin is removed. The lower part of the foreskin is retained and partially covers the glans (much like a collar around the shaft of the penis). In a partial circumcision, it is possible to retain all or part of the frenulum.

For religious circumcisions since about the 1st century AD, a full circumcision has been the prevalent procedure. In the US, a full circumcision following childbirth was the prevalent procedure after WWII; it's only in the past few years that pediatricians have been giving parents more options about whether to perform a partial or full circumcision or whether to leave the infant uncircumcised.

I had never even heard of a frenulum (nor--I just realized--does my spellcheck dictionary) before reading this post. What is the advantage of partial circumcision?

A partial circumcision is often performed when there is a desire to retain part of the foreskin either for aesthetic or functional reasons since the foreskin does prevent the glans from drying out (keratinizing).

For adult men who are being circumcised because of a stricture in the opening of the foreskin (phimosis), it allows them to retain a portion of the foreskin but still enables them to pull back the foreskin when peeing or when they have an erection.

So guys with foreskins need to pull it back when they pee? I've seen numerous uncut guys but I've never observed them peeing.

The don't have to but it is easier to keep clean if they retract. The same is true of when showering/bathing.

...because of a stricture in the opening of the foreskin (phimosis)...

Louis XVI had this problem and was unable to perform his marriage duties for a number of years before it was finally corrected surgically. During this time Marie Antoinette was subject to much gossip and ridicule for her failure to conceive. If Napoleon was right that the Revolution would never have happened were it not for the Affair of the Diamond Necklace, and that Marie Antoinette's extravagant behavior and spending--which made the calumny of the Affair plausible--would never have developed had Louis been able to perform, then the French Revolution arose from a penis that was unable to rise without unbearable pain.
