Been there.
Did NOT do that.
And when one guy did, we did NOT using boiling water to get him loose.
(Actually, we used a propane torch, and gently heated the metal -- he was clear out in a parking lot and any water we carried cooled down so by the time we got to him, it just froze on the pole, too.)


I'm not sure I have much sympathy; I'm trying not to laugh, actually. It's like grade-school science that cold things suddenly made hot have a tendency to, well, break.

Next time just pour that flat can of beer that's been sitting by the TV for two days on them.

No, tommy, bad would be like when I was in Indiana, and it hit -40. Car alarms kept going off due to the cold, batteries were cracking, radiator froze solid...

One Sunday morning, in an effort to get vehicles free so people could go to church, we had extension cords running over fifty yards to exterior engine heaters, and two guys with Jeeps were running along the rows -- one charging batteries by jumper, the other unloading batteries people had taken inside to keep warm.

And the ice was almost too cold to skate on!

We are getting that every-several-years damn cold down here in BCN too, by "damn cold" meaning some White Christmas-coating not just on mount Tibidabo but also on the beach; so toms, if we are still a couple we can rub our pains away the way we know...
The gas that is warming me up right now comes from Northern Africa, so no gas problems for Spain until the Islamic countries decide to place an embargo on the Western world... Spain's Russia is Algeria

Yeah, it's too cold.
Worked outside in -22°C Monday, -14°C yesterday and then 10°C today.
Forecast says -5 through the weekend before it gets really cold again.
I must have done something to upset the weather gods.
