Ok,I live in Romania & for everyone to know....it's fucked up,a shit country filled with dickheaded homophobes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I met this sweet guy..he's the cutest but we can't go together & live a full life cuz of the zero social life,I don't want horny gay friends to hang out with,I want normal friends like everybody else & to have a relationship with that guy...but I can't cuz apparently we are "faggots"

well, neither has a place of his own & I'm not out,we can't be out without being tagged as faggots...it's just hell

Move to Hungary, Budapest to be more exact...it's just next to you. Homossexuality is much more accepted here. ;)

I know. But consider it an option in the future. Or better yet...Belgium, Netherlands or Sweden. These are some of the most open minded countries you'll ever find. I'm considering moving there in the future myself. No, it's not perfect but it's much better than many other countries.

Anyways, consider Hungary (specially Budapest) an option. Yeah, hungarian is hard to learn but in time you can do it.

Romania & Hungary speak different languages i think. So its too hard to move just for man on man reason.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Sometimes I think that gays in America forget how much harder it is to be gay in some other countries. Good luck to you. (*8*)

Not that much different. Big city life is nothing like it's portrayed in the movies. You still have to deal with homophobes, bigots and nutcases just like you would if you lived in a small town or another country. The only difference is there's not that many of them in a big city or in "gayland" as you call it.

How can you say that America and Romania are alike? They have it so much harder over there. Not just gays, everyone does.

As for cities vs. small towns in America, they're extremely different. The social makeup alone sets cities and towns apart from eachother.

Why is this turning into a thread about America? Does he care about America? No, he cares about how homophobic Romania is.

Could you dumb fuck twats get back on track and talk about, oh idk, how he can better himself and survive an incredibly homophobic country (which America is nothing like).

mmmmkay?

Yes, Romania is a really homophobic country. At least gay sex is legal and there are nominal protections for gay people (hate crime laws, anti-discrimination laws). We actually don't even have those protections broadly in the US right now.

Is the situation any better in big cities like Bucharest? Also, now that Romania is an EU country, do you have the right to work in other more friendly EU countries?

Gay sex is legal throughtout the entire US. So is FULL protection for all gay people in the US. It's time for you to live in 2008.

And you know Romania has all this because? What, their in the EU?

Actually sodomy is still illegal in some places and there are many states that don't have homosexuality written into legislation about job discrimination and school bullying.

On the federal level it is legal. I don't know the specific court case, but it was deemed unconstitutional to have such a law agaisnt sodomy.

and again, on the federal level, i believe they have a anti-discrimination law agaisnt all minorities, including homosexuals. I am not gonna say this is a real law, but I am pretty sure it is.

Last time I checked, federal law trumped state law. I mean, medical marijuana is legal in California, still fully illegal federally.

but anyway BACK TO THE TOPIC, ROMANIA

Tell that to the gay dude who got fired from Subway.
Subway doesn't allow that to happen. It is a equal opportunity employer. If they found out an employee was fired for being gay, the manager would be fired, and the employee would probably be asked back, probably with a raise.

Really, only companies with a strong religious affliation (bible store, church, Christian Research Council) would fire someone for being gay.

It's supposed to.
It does, if your fired from your job for being gay, and the company does nothing to fix it, you can sue. And you will most likely win. Depending on the state, you sue either on the state or federal level.

The bisexual was fired months ago. I haven't heard anything about him being hired back with a raise.

Does Subway have a strong religious affiliation? They fired someone for doing bisexual porn.

I haven't heard anything about that guy suing.
Why would Subway know about the porn? Was he distributing it, selling it during his hours? Was he talking about it to customers or loud enough that a customer heard?

Did he speak with Subway headquarters? Did he try to sue?

You say he is fired for doing bi porn, and then thats it. There is usually something else under the surface. There is no reason for Subway to even know he does porn. Sounds like it was all his fault.

Hang in there neighbor, things will get better.

I really don't know what advice I can give you, there surely are many places in Romania where you and your love can go and be alone with each other...
