Saying that men that are already infected are not at risk when engaging in bareback activities is royally stupid. HIV is notorious for its high rate of mutation and being infected with one strain doesn't mean you can be infected by another. There are known HIV strains out there that do not respond very well or at all to combination therapy. So hey, if you're a bit of a biohazard why not become a weapons lab?
WRT Bareback porn. To be really honest I feel a bit ambivalent about it. I bareback with my partner of 10 years. I'd enjoy seeing that in porn too, but having said that hate the idea of people putting themselves at risk so I can have a quick wank watching them... What (young) guys need to see is condoms being associated with sex and pleasure. That way, it becomes automatic for you. When I was in my teens I associated putting on a condom with having sex (practically shot my load rolling it down in the beginning). That worked great for me, so why not show that in porn?

Given the nature of the HIV virus, especially its uncanny ability to hide in places like brain support cells (astrocytes), I don't think there will ever be a 'cure' for those already infected, just as there will never be a cure for herpes and varicella (other viruses that hide out in the central nervous system).
The best hope is a vaccine to prevent future infections. Whether or not such a vaccine will be able to support the immune systems of those already infected sufficiently to keep their infection in check is something that remains to be seen.

A negative test does not mean you are not infected: the window period between infection and seroconversion can be as great as six month, during which time you may be the most able to infect.
Dink seems to have dispensed with his 'bareback barracks' films. Active Duty remains one of the hottest sites.

Soil's link is telling: serum viral load (and ability to infect) peaks just prior to seroconversion. After one seroconverts, the immune system keeps the virus in check and the serum load actually diminishes. This phase can last anywhere from 3 to 10+ years, at which point the T-helper cells have been so ravished as to not be able to keep up with the viral mutations.
Newer tests, which detect actual virus (as opposed to antibody) are more sensitive for early infection.
It sounds like these guys got treated within the 24-72 hour grace period in which six months of prophylactic HAART can be administered to check infection. Does anyone know the outcome?
The story about the three bottoms getting infected (all at the same time from the same single source) is only from one source and is widely suspected to be a hoax. If anything has confirmed it I haven't heard it.

He's right, though.. there IS no cure and there isn't one on the horizon. Pushing condoms will keep people alive and healthy until the unforseeable future when HIV may one day be curable. Which, if you ask me, most likely won't ever happen.

Just for reference, there has NEVER been a cure found for a viral disease, and vaccines for only a few. Vaccine is more likely than cure, for HIV, but it's years off, if ever.
And obviously it won't protect you if you're already infected. So do what you can to stay negative.
