Just finished taking down all the Christmas decorations and dismantling the Christmas tree ..... now I'm covered in glitter!!! Talk about a sparkling little fairy .... FUCK!!! :grrr:

I love fairies--especially the sparkling kind, even more so if you are naked!..|

It is like the pine needles when you get a real tree you are still finding them in July.

HA! As I alway say when I walk in to my apartment and there is glitter and sequins all over the place,"Call Orkin! We've got Drag Queens!". For you Aussies, Orkin is a US nation wide pest control company. :D

theres a sight
a bit early to take down decorations, no?
oh wait, your not a procrastinating american...

Know what you mean.......

You see some glitter on your face; but when you wipe it off, you end up with more than when you started.

It's similiar to having an anniversary party where someone had the bright idea of throwing rice again as the happy couple left our home for a second honeymoon...........

NOW I will find rice in my home for the rest of my life!

Damn, this stuff just seems to multiply, just like Oz's glitter problem, for it will NOT go away!(*8*) (*8*)

I just vaccuumed and most of it dissapeared. I am still finding some though,.

I'll be finding glitters for the next couple of months as well... Let's just say that hugging someone with glitters all over is NOT such a good idea.

You're not a sparkling fairy. You're a sparkling Aussie. The first in human history, I believe. ;)

Took ours down today also. Surprisingly not THAT much mess!! :D.

Why was there so much glitter on your tree...? I know this may seem like a dumb question, but I'm curious if it is from flocking, or from ornaments, or from tinsel...stuff like that...

It was my guess that 'glitter' is what we call 'tinsel' or 'garland' in North America. We'll see if I'm right or wrong as soon as one of our Aussie mates responds. (I'm also guessing that it's in the wee hours of the morning Down Under at this moment, so they're all probably snuggled in bed.)

This is glitter ......

You sprinkle it over things to make them sparkle. In the case of our Christmas tree, it was stuck all over the tree for decoration when we bought it, but the bloody stuff gets all over you when you assemble and dismantle the tree.

This is tinsel .....

All clear now?

So, your glitter is our glitter, too. I don't believe I've ever heard of anyone sprinkling glitter on a Christmas tree.

What you called 'tinsel' is what we call 'garland'. 'Tinsel' are the individual strands which are often looped over the branches of the trees and dangle freely.

No tree this year.. or last.. or the year before. Some day I hope to have one again.. along with making food for thanksgiving and xmas.. such a long time ago it seems...

The last time I saw a sparkling fairy, it was Tinkerbell.

Now, where are the photos, please?
