"do you still watch straight porn?"

...

along with a multitude of incredibly personal questions in front of a large group, including if I was the "giver or receiver". he blamed the awkwardness on the vodka, I blame it on him being a high school conservative closet homo

I was chatting with a friend on AIM, and this guy friend of mine was sitting next to me being bored. So he decided it was funny to press f9 or something like that on my laptop. And POP comes out a gay porn file in the AIM folder -.-
Then this conversation takes place:

me: so erh...
guy: is that what I think it is??
me: maybe...*quickly close the file*
guy: *grabs my laptop and opens the file again*
me: Yes I'M GAY...you're happy now, gimme back my laptop!!!
guy: awwww....
me: WHAT??? *I was on edge at this point because I didn't expect to be outted*
guy: Come on [insert my name], I wanna check out the suck suck and fuck fuck.
me: O.O

best friend ever since! and he's straight too....

I think the funniest reaction was when some asked - "so how do you know?"

Ermmmmmmm ](*,)

I once had a coworker asked me if I "ever considered getting that fixed?"

I also had a friend in college look at me confused and shocked and say "but you could get a girl." He then explained that he thought gay people were gay because they were too ugly to get women to date them.

Oh heterosexuals... can't live with 'em, can't find that island without 'em.

You didn't reply anything?

In college you say... really?

Wow.

I had to explain that reparative therapy was a crock. He was older and over-sheltered. Pretty much went to church and to work and back home again. He didn't mean anything by it, really, and work is a bad place to get in people's face, but I did have to set him straight on the subject.

Wow.

um.. you're surprised I went to college or that someone in college would think that?

He wasn't a bad guy.. just had a rather odd theory. He understood once I explained it to him.

I guess I've been lucky. Nothing bad or even odd.

One new guy at work was meeting with three of us. He said, "I heard somebody here is gay." I THINK he was kidding, but the other two looked at me, so I said, "Yeah - that's me." He said, "Wha - you mean, YOU're...?" I said, "Yeah." He smiled weirdly and shook my hand.

I'm not sure why he did that, but he was fine with it after that.

Surprised someone attending college would think that. Although, on second thought, I guess he was in the right place.

My father, who I thought would blow his top and kick me out said, "I don't care as long as you mow the lawn."

Sort of funny but not funny ...

My mom totally freaked. She threw a crying bitching hissyfit.

but not because I'm gay, it was because I didn't tell her first.

I came out late (59) and, when I did I decided to out myself to my 9 nieces and nephews to whom I'm very close. Most said things like "Congratulations" for finally finding the courage to be who I am. One said, "Jeez, Unk, too bad it wasn't sooner, you could have had a lot more fun." The weirdest was the one who told me that he "still" loved me, but he believed God had created a woman for every man. When I said that women really did nothing for me, he sincerely said, "How about a woman who looks like a man?" I figured that discussion had pretty much run its course!

when i came out to my girlfriend, she constantly asked me questions - and then the phone died, and she let her imagination run away. she calmed down after i told her i wasnt going to leave her for a guy.

when i came out to my mom, i was in the car, and an event had just happened where i had a guy flirting blatantly with me and she noticed. after i told her she looked at me and said "just dont bring any guys home while your living here." i just stared in disbelief because i have a girlfriend.

my other friends were like "its about time" or "i knew that already"

My best friend in college. I told him I was gay, and he took a few minutes to process the information before looking at me with that evil grin and asking..

"So... What does cock taste like?"

Sounds like a really cool guy. You should post that on some st8 websites so st8 guys could use the same line.

When I told my cousin I was gay, she said "Oh my god, I'm so sorry for you". She acted as if I'd just announced a terminal illness.

That may not be funny, but I found it rather amusing.

When I told a friend he said "Oh...so we are telling secrets....I'm planning on divorcing my wife and getting married to my girlfriend." Somehow we didn't talk about me being gay!

I've been out for 20 years. But coming out is a lifelong process.
I was working with someone and told her I was gay. She said "NO" I responded, "What did you think? I don't date women" Her response. "I thought you were a confirmed bachelor."

HAHAHAHAHAHA LMFAO
this is gold :p
