Funny anti-religious Internet pics

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

What many don't pause to realize is that Christianity did not exist until The New Testament.

Everything in The Old Testament has very little, if anything, to do with Christianity at all!

Same god, same problem. Jesus was not believed to represent God's repentance for doing such a poor job of morality up until then.

Really? I would think that Genesis and the concept of original sin have quite a bit to do with Christanity.

The Talmud, and The Old Testament, are, quite basically, the same.

Jesus was Jewish.

Jews do not hold that Jesus was "The Messiah", which is the basic difference between Judaism and Christianity.

Christianity, as well as Islam, is a "new take" on The Old Testament (Talmud).

Though Judaism does not recognize Jesus as "The Messiah", Islam does, in addition to recognizing Mohammad as "The Prophet".

There are "Ties" to The Old Testament, in both Christianity, and Islam, since both have diverged from, and differently interpreted, the Original Abrahamic "Laws", while still keeping the Basics.

I'm not all that sure that Jesus, nor Mohammed, would hold with the idea of "Original Sin", as much as "The Church", or "The Mosque", both of which are the interpretations of Man, do.

So what do I need Jesus for then if original sin is moot?

What was your point about cherry picking again?

That the New Testament was the nice shiny cherry and the Old Testament was no cherry at all? Yes, that was it, I think...

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

"Thou shalt not own other people as property" seems like it would have been a good commandment to have. I guess not saying the Lord's name in vain was more important though. Oh, well.

There's no point in giving a command no one will follow. Frak, we still haven't caught up with the other ones except in lip service.

There's a LOT in the Talmud that isn't in the Old Testament -- and some of it gets pretty out there.

That is so close to the truth it's almost not funny.

There's a whole book full of rules nobody follows. It's called The Bible.
