I find it incredible that Churchill wrote that in a book published in 1899. Further research confirms it and explains it as an opinion formed as a young soldier fighting in the Sudan.

It really reflects the opinions of many in present day society.

California has issued water restrictions. You can't water your garden, but apparently, you can water the homeless.

It's allowed because it's the miracle of Jesus peeing on the homeless poor.

Criticism of Islam of this kind has been considered taboo for decades. It's only now that we're rediscovering that these writings from the colonial period may be inspired by something other than colonial prejudice.

We were warned, but we didn't listen.
