One of the best proofs that religion is not about ideas or even about God: it's a basically feeling of cultural belonging.
That is why adults of children who start closing down their minds say that they do (or did) choose to be a Christian or a Muslim: what would be their new place in the world, away from the position they already occupy through their "religion of choice"..?
