Funny anti-religious Internet pics

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

If you'd bother to read the documents, you'd find that God changed His manner of working after the Event known as the Incarnation.

Same god; same problem: continuing responsibility for the unethical and capricious behaviour. Incarnation is a bit too little too late.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

Yes, if Noah's Ark contained a DNA synthesiser and a few exabytes of storage then it almost sounds believable doesn't it? Oh, and naturally this explains Iceland too. Iceland is obviously the plug in the giant drainhole into which the floodwaters receded.
No, Antarctica. The hole was more than 3.7 times the size of Iceland.

Sounds like a pretty pathetic god that would need to change his mind. A truly omniscient god would get it right the first time and not need a rough draft to rewrite his own rules. Does this mean god is not all-knowing?

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

I'm surprised that the people who believe Noah's Ark story, don't ever suggest that the DNA of all the animals in the world was what was brought aboard. That would entirely fulfill the contradiction of the amount of space available even on the most massive boat ever built, and the number of species it was called upon to hold. (The most massive boat ever built would not have held a pair of every species.) If all the animals were ambulatory, there would have had to be enough food to keep them fed foir forty days. And the place would really start to stink...

Maybe it was bigger on the inside.

I know that this meme is of a minor, but I thought that it was such a powerful pic that it should be posted
I hope the mods will agree

in 2003, the pastor who did this was sentenced to 26 years, and his brother who helped him was sentenced to 14 years

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

Apparently those twin pastors, the one who beat the boy and his brother who held the boy, were 23 at the time. Now they're playing the victim card, and have written books saying they're now suffering for Jesus. http://www.stufffundieslike.com/2011/04/joshua-and-caleb-thompson/

WRT the story, here's some background

I was so angry at their self-righteousness I had to take a break for a walk.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

Religion enables some people to convince themselves that they are doing what their holy doctrine tells them to do. Spare the rod etc. They believe they've done nothing wrong.

And they get this from their dad, Pastor Hank.

I read the deseretnews.com article...and the unbelievable comment below it from someone supporting the brothers

another time travel post...this one was supposed to go below Star-warrior's post #2311

The brothers' father, Hank Thompson, is pastor of the church and leads the main congregation of about 300 members. Calls to his home and the church, which describes itself as "independent fundamental," went unanswered Tuesday.

Thompson told News 8 Austin that he believes his sons were trying to discipline the boy, but he doesn't think they alone caused the injuries.

"My son would've used a thin switch, that I'm positive of," he told the television station. He added: "My policy would've never been on the back like that ever. It would've been on the bottom."
