No, he's just someone that thinks the world should be the way he would like it and uses his preference to attack something else. To be consistent, he should want God to enforce all His laws in the same fashion, especially if he doesn't think free will is important.

I'm one of those people. I oppose child rape. The world should be without it.

The reality of child rape is the sort of thing which is the single most powerful argument against the existence of the typical old omnipotent and omnibenevolent god.

I'm appalled by arguments that defend the rape of children.

The idea you're promoting of "consistency" just does not explain it.

I'm one of those people. I oppose child rape. The world should be without it.

The reality of child rape is the sort of thing which is the single most powerful argument against the existence of the typical old omnipotent and omnibenevolent god.

I'm appalled by arguments that defend the rape of children.

The idea you're promoting of "consistency" just does not explain it.

Then you and he are both insisting that if there is a deity, that entity should adhere to YOUR standards, and forget Its own.

So if you want God to employ coercion to stop child rape, then you should be happy to welcome His coercion to stop cutting in line, taking the last cookie instead of sharing it, pocketing money someone dropped rather than return it, speeding, taking shortcuts on park trails, reneging on campaign promises, false advertising, littering, over-eating, trespassing, gossip.....

It's the attitude of a meddler, who doesn't approve of more powerful people not meddling to make things go the way the meddler wants. And it's the reason the world has child rapists in the first place: people wanting things to be the way they want.

And if you think God should be stopping child rapists, then it is only fair to ask: What have you done lately to stop child rapists?

King David repeatedly asks god for his help, and god aids him. Thus the precedent has already been set. Asking god to help intercede is the usual modus operandi of the faithful. But when god does not help, and the rape is allowed, what does that say? That mere requests by the general populous of faithful is not entertained, but only those who maintain high office should be helped?

The god in the bible that the Israelites worshiped and alleged father of Jesus is by any definition a meddler in the lives of the people who do and do not worship him. The lists of things God does includes sanctioning rape and murder of children, and innocents, drowning everyone except Noah and his family, to killing egyptian first born, the fire and brimstone destruction of the cities of the plains to the endless pits of torment in the christian revelations.

And if you think God should be stopping child rapists, then it is only fair to ask: What have you done lately to stop child rapists?

If god were a person with a resume, all the boasting that he killed millions by drowning, burning by fire and brimstone, and unleashing armies to slaughter babies and enslaving women and children, is appalling enough.

But as you are going about saying because he is your glorious leader he deserves a fair hearing.... I think it says something about the moral highground such followers stand on.

If there's a category like 'free will' which preempts the benevolence of god, then that god isn't all-good; that god permits evil acts because it values freedom more than goodness. That god compromises and devalues its benevolence in favor of freedom.

If a god allows evils like child-rape to wantonly flourish, it's improper to think of benevolence as one of its defining categories.
