As a Dutch Protestant I was overjoyed that in Spain, back in 2002, 'christianismo' meant catholicism.
I mean the "overjoyed".
Anyway, it's like the offsprings of the denouncers of the "conspiración judeomasónica" being officially friends of all the Jewish people, while still occasionally letting drop expressions like "perra judía": do not count much on a rosy future for anything not-Catholic among militant Catholic.
In any case, for "true" Catholics, there never was "cristianismo/Christianity" that was not Catholic.
