FX: American Horror Story: Asylum [merged]

Ugh...last night...it was so uneven. I am not really liking the final moments of this story.....

It is strange because the writing on this show can be so damn good and then they drop the ball?????? Last week it was the Monsignor who completely changed his personality...this week it is Lana....

I had some trepidations all season about all these vastly different storylines they've tried to interweave and I just gave it time thinking... maybe they'll really pull it all together somehow.

Hasn't really happened so far... in hindsight, the religion, alien & serial killer thing are just basically 3 separate storylines with little in common but the insane asylum.

Definitely not as well crafted as season 1. The saving grace is, the creator has said he feels ambivalent about season 2 and wants to do something more season 1-esque next season.

2's okay but I wouldn't run and tell people to pick up the show over season 2 like I did with season 1.

I don't like the direction the show has taken in the last episode. It seems too drawn out and unnecessary. Story makes zero sense now. I think it would have been fine if Asylum just ended when Lana escaped and gave the bird to Bloodyface. Although it would have been nice to see her get Jude out; I think she finally does that in the finale.

I'm glad to see that season 3 will happen, and glad the Lange will return. I've been afraid she would not want to continue since she keeps getting snubbed from awards, for which she at least deserves nominations.

Grace was so annoying. I don't know if it was the character or the actress that was at fault but she didn't appeal to me at all.

When Alma killed Grace...... DatGorl.... when I say I rejoiced in the holy spirit I mean I rejoiced in the holy spirit.

I-HATE-GRACE

My best sis recently got into the show and she hated Grace as well. She sent me an elated text when Alma axed "Kit's jump off."

I didn't care for her either, but then again any female character on the show who wasn't played by Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange or Jenna Dewan-Tatum may as well have been a prop.

At this point I was not expecting much with the finale so I was at least surprised that Lana took the action she did. I also like how they tied up all of the stories and gave the whole thing closure. I think it was anti climatic because of the sketchy character development...especially with her son. I didn't really buy the whole daddy/son cycle but it was a nice try.

Lana.Is.Dat.Bitch

I won't spoil a damn thing but DAYUM.

From beginning to end she SHAT on everything. Plus when she had her hair pulled back at the top (At the playground, and at Kit's wedding) she was giving me MASSIVE Lana Del Rey teas in her National Anthem video.

What I'm unhappy about: I would have a preferred a little more action and horror in the finale.

What I'm happy about: The storyline was still good and entertaining. The Lana part near the end was orgasmic. Fierce bitch!

I got closure from it. I didn't feel like they have to explain something better. I'm ready for the next season :)

I don't want to discuss it in detail either until MissAnne and DatGworl get here, but Lana is simply that bitch. She did dat.

Ugh, yes. Actually from the previews that showed Lana smoking outside of Briarcliff before the show even started gave me slight Lana teas, but the National Anthem/H&M hair really did it. She was looking hawt. The gogo boots, the fur coat, etc. Lana saw to it that I got everything I needed in my finale last night.

Lemme find out I have to watch American Horror Story to converse with my sisters whilst The Walking Dead is on hiatus.

^^^ Did Lana not carry that episode flawlessly? She literally carried it all.

This was her "I am Legend" moment.

SPOILERZZZZ

Okay.. So... Was the entire Asylum experience made up for her career? Is that what her little mini speech at the end right before she killed her Son was about, I have to rewatch but literally her last line before she pulls the trigger? Also, when she was being interviewed and she was talking about lies?

Lemme perch on some message boards and find out.

I don't think she meant the whole thing was a lie... just parts of it. Like the whole rescuing Jude thing. All the Lana scenes we saw before really did happen but when she wrote the book she added things which didn't really happen so it would sell better and she would have the whole hero image.

^^ Mess@The alien offspring taking Jude to the River.

Also Mess @ Them becoming doctors and lawyers. Why not revolutionists? I swear to God one of them was supposed to be the Anti-Christ. How sick would a hint like that been? Almost as huge as in season one having that kid kill his nanny. Although isn't he supposed to be the anti-christ too? Smh, they are everywhere.

The finale was ok, not incredible. Better than last week's episode. I just really did not care for the direction they took Lana after she escaped and basically made her a snobbish cunt; her character before was much too strong to ever let that happen. But they did a good job making her look like an old celebrity that had tons of cosmetic surgery and too much Botox; that was believable.

What did Lana mean when she said, "When I finally got into Briarcliff, Jude was gone"? Died? Escaped? Released? Taken by aliens?
